All of them. Well, not really. But I'm not very good at video games. I've never beaten a Contra or a Castlevania or a Ninja Gaiden. Not Mega Man 1 or TMNT or Battletoads. That's the big names, then there are the lower-tier games that I also like.
Yet for some reason Zelda 2 is no problem for me, even without grinding or leveling tricks. That and Mega Man 2 1cc are my only claims to skill here...
We use to beat Contra III on the SNES all the time. It took several months of steady play, but once we did it once, it was so much easier. What an awesome two player game if both people know what they're doing!

Have you seen the speedrun with two players beating it with one controller? They beat it in 32 minutes.
Eh, I think that is subjective. I may get crucified for this, but when I couldn't beat Contra 3 on Normal, I got amazing satisfaction from beating it hard with a Game Genie.

From the OP's list I've only played Battletoads and Kid Icarus, but I managed to beat both of them. For Kid Icarus, if you can make it halfway through the game you should try to finish it, because the second half is significantly easier than the first half.
Jackal (NES) - The last level is tough. I've made it to near the end.
Battletoads (NES) - Furthest I've gotten is the fifth stage using a warp.
Super C (NES) - I've beaten "Contra" without the Konami code, but have only gotten as far as the fifth stage in "Super C".
Contra III (NES) - This game is murder. I can usually make it as far as the third stage.
Contra Hard Corps (Genesis) - Another game in the series that I fail at.
I'm no good at shmups so there are plenty those on various consoles that I enjoy playing, but have no chance of beating.
Ninja Gaiden III - I've single credit cleared the first game lots of times. I can complete the second game using continues. The third game is impossible and the third act is as far as I can get. But I've only played it on emulator. I plan on buying the cart at some point.
Mega Man 2 (NES) - I can't believe I haven't beaten this.
Castle of Illusion (Genesis) - I've gotten to the final boss.
If you can beat the first Ninja Gaiden without using continues than I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to beat part III. Keep practicing!

I completed the Famicom version the first time I played it. I think they should have retained the modest difficulty of that version, but with limited continues. They didn't have to make the game super hard as well.
I do plan on getting the cartridge then I'll make a serious effort at beating it. I wish it wasn't so pricey.
You got it. That's the one. I will get him some day. Just put the game down for some reason (I forget why). I have it on my GBA SP. You know what this has motivated me to pick it up again. I'm beating that shit soon.
Make sure you are playing on a CRT for sure. Lag will kill you in that game.
Yeah. Real hardware is always going to have better control, but lag isn't a deal breaker for most games. I've beaten quite a few older games with emulators and LCD monitor. "Punch-Out" is special in how it requires instant reactions to quick visual cues. You have to dodge as soon as you see Mike Tyson's sprite flash or Mr. Sandman stop moving. You can't be off at all.

I didn't grow up with the game, so I don't know what the boxers are going to throw at me. Usually it's just me getting caught off guard on timing or a bad prediction that sends me to the mat.
Battletoads and that is pretty much it............maybe a few that I thought I beat as a kid but never did.
Has the rat race glitch made you give up yet?
I can't believe he's run into that like 3 times in a row and I never personally have. Guess I got lucky, sounds so frustrating.
I haven't tried since last time but I am going to here shortly....I am going to try to just make a quick judgement call which is absolutely nuts to say to try and purposely lose the race if I feel the glitch will occur.
How frequently do players run into this glitch? I still want to order a Battletoads cart, but that's an awful glitch. At least it's possible to bypass most of that stage by taking out the first rat.
Still have yet to beat Tyson's Punchout. Really need to finish that game sometime. I think the furthest I've ever made it was the last round of fighters (the circuit where you fight Sandman, Macho Man, etc.). I also have to beat Castlevania 1 (finished 2&3 just not 1 lol), Ninja Gaiden 2 and TMNT Arcade (I beat it at the arcade as a kid after god knows how many quarters, but I've always wanted to finish it on my NES)
I've got tons of games that I haven't beaten, but let's see, of the ones I actively like to play and have played a lot; I'd have to say Goldeneye. I've never beaten the last two stages. I'm a baby. I probably wasn't playing a high enough difficulty. But I've always had a soft spot for this game, ever since watching my brother beat it as a kid. I used to like to rev up the Gameshark and just murder guards with all-access weapons and paintball mode. Hours of childish entertainment.

Isn't the difficulty of the games the fun part?

You mean like cycling L and R while firing?
Super Mario 2
I can't get past Dungeon 6 in Zelda

You can't have any lag when facing the tougher opponents in Punch-Out.

The original Zelda. Can't get past the 2 headed dragon... or is it 3 heads? Can't remember.
..you don't mean the first dungeon do you...? IF so just hold bombs till they're about to blow and throw them at him

I'm playing on the real deal. My reflexes are just not that good.

I think they are talking about Gleeok, the two headed dragon from Dungeon 4. It helps if you upgrade your hearts and sword prior to this.

Sunset Riders - Easy and Normal modes are fine, but Hard mode is tough as nails.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors - My brother and I can't get very far. We got stuck on those giant sand worm things.
Love them, never going to commit the time to beating them.
Pocky and Rocky - I've only been playing by myself, so it might be easier with two players. Nevertheless, that game is it brutal.
Forgot about this one. I recently acquired both and 1 its impossible. I don't want to try 2 until I beat the first one.
