Rare vintage Mario statue

Hey guys,

I need help with the history of this item and possibly assigning a value.

I could be totally wrong but I had the understanding these were issued to top performing Funco Land stores directly from Nintendo back in the day. Not sure if that is correct at all, or if they were exclusively given to Funco Land.

  • They were bought by stores. Not even the oldest models. Worth $500 to $1000
  • What era? Late eighties, early ninties?
  • Don't know the year, yet they are anywhere in the range of $500-1500.. I've heard $2000-range for a mint one, but I doubt it; who knows though? There has been a few threads on NA about these statues the past year or so.
  • They still have one at our local TRU.
  • That's the N64 era model. I have one myself as well. The value is in the condition of the paint and whether or not it has the metal base. I don't have a clue what stores they were given to. As far as value, I agree with Brandon. I'd say a very minimum of $500 on up to $2,000 if it's in pristine condition and you find the right buyer.
  • A local store has one with the base... I bugged the guy for a price and he came back with $2k. Not worth that imo. I'd say like a grand for a good condition one.
  • I'd like to add that if I owned this Mario statue (and plan to one day, so hopefully I can provide NA with a picture when I obtain this guy) I would throw a large, black afro on him with some psychedelic shades. I would probably refer to him as Disco Stu.
  • I think it's probably pretty reasonable to estimate that in good condition but minus the stand you're probably ballparking somewhere around $1k.
