Nintendo Arcade - What Is It? What's It Worth?

Saw this for sale and I've never seen one before. Anyone know what it is and what it's worth? The seller has no idea either.

  • Yup, never seen that one either.
  • No idea, but its gloryhole. Maybe some kinda counter top demo unit.
  • Never seen it before. I think it is unique and cool. Does the person have a price in mind? I have no idea what the value of it is. I am hoping someone here knows and can educate me on what this is. So cool.
  • Looks like a demo kiosk or something. What does it do when powered on?
  • It looks like it could be a laserdisc video preview countertop kiosk. I know the NES merchandising store fixture catalogs show a VHS preview setup, but I don't recall seeing anything about laserdiscs until the Nintendo Power Previews kiosk showed up around the time of the SNES launch.
  • oooooooooh. neat unit. never seen one like that!
  • I'm gonna go with what someone else said and assume it's a video preview unit since it has no buttons for actual gameplay. I'd grab that if I were you. It's gotta be worth a decent amount
  • Super cool looking item! I would pick it up if I were you. How much is the seller wanting?
  • Never seen one. Can't make it out on my phone, what does it say next to a, b, c? I want it, whatever that thing is.
  • From a brochure that I need to add to my M series list:

M19I - Video Disc Interactive Counter Display. Dynamic visual presentation of sophisticated game pak play and more. Features unique push-button menu interaction or automatic attract mode. Comes with high-resolution 13" color TV and Pioneer laser disc player.

I thought so! The layout of the touchpad looks so similar to the 90s kiosk. Are the LDs available to order in that brochure as well? I wonder how many discs were produced and how often they were updated? I would LOVE to see some of those clips. Thanks for sharing your M series knowledge.

  • There's no other discs or info about what is on them, just another larger version that goes on the floor instead of counter with a 20" TV.
  • Sadly missed out on picking this up. Remember, it's usually best to just buy the unusual thing you're considering cuz someone else will while you're debating! XD It was $250 and the seller didn't know what it was or even if it worked (had no way to test it, apparently). Ah well...
