I've only played it once since the contest. I think I fought Mike Tyson more times in that one week than I had over the past 28 years combined.

I was going to play some today, but I need my thumbs to last me another three weeks.

  • I figure my score is good enough for a sports game since I'm not that great at them, so I'm satisfied for the week. I picked up on the game pretty well except for some practice on the High Jump. I even got a perfect score in the 3rd loop of trap shooting.

The high jump gave me trouble too. Luckily, I'd usually manage to get at least one successful attempt in to qualify for the next round.

  • Always liked this game it was one of the neighborhood competition classics. Didn't get a ton of time to play this week but wanted to post a score to get in on the fun

Nice one.  My speed usually caps out right around the second line from the right, so that extra half block of speed you get is probably the difference in that throw versus my mid and low 90s throws.

That's a crazy record, but I think I know their secret.  Obviously, if we want to compete with scores like that, we're all going to need one of these.

  • Has anyone hit the UFO with the javelin this week
  • I'd like to point a few tricks to score :

Like Twarwick said, when you throw a javelin at 80 degrees with enough power you will hit a UFO, which gives 3000 points. So if you already have a nice throw by your 3rd try, go for the UFO.

In the Triple jump, each jumps count for points, so don't miss one.

When you get 3 successful attempts at high jump, you get an extra 3000 points.

And the most important : Skeet Shooting, if you hit all targets without shooting blank, you will get a UFO coming on the screen. Hit it with your left aim and a crow will appear. UFO is worth 3000 points, and the crow is worth 5000 points per hit. A conservative approach is to hit the crow once with each aim. But, you can hit it twice with each aim, triggering a fast double hits at the right time. With this method, you can get as high as 28,100 points for each attempts (there's even a pattern that makes it 28,200).
  • Hmmm, I can't get the photobucket thing to upload my new score pic. It keeps saying theres a server error... I wonder if I'm the only one having this problem. Anyway, I'm at 547,870. I can't skeet shoot for shit. I easily left close to 100k points on the table on that run.

I need to give it a few more attempts today. After something legit popped in my thumb back on Wednesday, I hadn't gotten around to giving it another shot. It's still sore this morning, but I guess I'll just have to take a few aspirin and play through it.

There's an archery bonus too where a cat appears and you can shoot an apple off of its head for bonus points. I've only seen it appear after getting a bullseye, but I think you have to get it with one of your last 2 or 3 arrows.

Edit: I was having the same problem. It should be fixed now.

Yup, its working for me now too. Score updated... The skeet shoot rounds are killing me point wise. I think I was getting maybe only one 20k pointer out of every 3 attempts.

  • The long jump kills me too and I can't figure out why. Every other event I can break the record pretty handily except for that one. I can barely squeek past 8 meters...

The javelin throw got me last time. I still have a rough time getting past the low 90s for whatever reason.

Indeed, it seems to get triggered by a late bullseye, but I never undertood fully how to do it on purpose. The apple gives 1000 points and you get an additional 3 arrows if you hit it.

I couldn't find any info on how to make the cat appear on purpose either. I think you need to get a bullseye with one of your final three arrows, but I'm not 100% sure if it happens every time or if it's random.

The javelin and the triple jump are my 2 best. I just got a 101m on the javelin my last run, and the triple jump I can average over 21m with almost every attempt.
  • GameFAQs says the cat appears if your only bullseye is your 7th arrow.  I haven't tried it myself to confirm.

Its definitely triggered by getting a bullseye on the second to last shot, but I bet the bullseye has to be a specific angle or something because it doesn't happen everytime for me.

It has to be the 7th arrow, but like Briguy said, it doesn't always appear, and I personally never understood what's triggerring it at 100 %
  • Score updated, broke 800k. This run should have easily been around 950k. I'm actually ashamed of how bad I am at skeet shooting. My last round I didn't get one friggin ufo attempt. Reggie Miller held up the choke sign after I was done.

Nice game.  At least if you miss out on the skeet shooting bonus points, it doesn't keep you from moving forward.  I'm horrible at the high jump, which of course is instant game over.
