On a side note, tonight I went into a Gamestop that's less than a mile from my house and found a "display box" for Wii Let's sing 2016, which was the case with manual. Of course when I took it up to the counter they couldn't find it yada yada... So I tried asking for the case since it looked like they "sold it without the case", and they awkwardly denied me. Ok, so I figured I'll stick around for a bit longer just in case one of the two employees gets curious or something and ACTUALLY look around the store. After it was clear no one cared, I then went up and asked again. To her credit, the clerk went online to see if there were any other retail stores that carried the game, but we all know the result. "Why not try amazon?" said the other clerk. "Nah I tried already, it's not there", I replied. But the other clerk went ahead and checked it. "Oh looks like it's on there...yeah, fifty bucks." I was like oh yeah? I looked it up and sure enough, I guess someone listed 3 copies tonight. Well naturally I ordered one, and it looks like shortly after, the other two were gone....
So I'm wondering who else caught this? I guess I got lucky after all, but time will tell what I just ordered.

Yeah that's a great idea. I can take a picture of mine when I get home for evidence purposes, but I have the sealed bundle with a bit of a ding in the bottom of the mic box. That begs the question - can I buy a PS4 bundle and simply swap mic boxes? I would imagine the UPC (or some product code/reference number) is different? If everything is identical, then any value of the Wii bundle going forward shouldn't be much more than the game itself...
I think Rcjdm97 and I might have bought it from the same Amazon seller, the rather generic sounding Video Games Exchange. Who knows what tricks that place can utilize to squeeze extra $$ out of whatever remaining stock they may or may not have... I guess someone was willing to pay $150 though...
I saw that $150 copy but I thought no one would buy it.
@mpacz99 should have pulled the trigger at $150 because who knows when if ever someone sells it for far less and that probably comes with the microphone and if someone is willing to pay that much then the next price I fear will be higher. Soma got lucky and found a copy for $50 on Amazon and is awaiting if it is just the game only or Game and Mic Bundle. But that comes as no surprise as it is published from Maximum Games which never re releases their prior releases have patience and "Luck" because you are not the only one looking for a copy but good luck in your search .

Awesome! Glad you were able to get a copy! Welcome to the club. So did you end up with the case? If not I would just go back and take it. You could leave a complete other wii game in its place that they will actually be able to sell.
Does anyone have an open copy and tried playing it? Just curious since there is a recall if there isn't a game breaking-bug that makes the entire thing unplayable.

The clerk at GS awkwardly took the case and put it somewhere behind the counter. I asked multiple times for it but no dice. It was some girl who seemed petrified with fear that I was asking! Ha, whatever, ya know. Someone asked who sold the copy I purchased on Amazon. The seller is "Joes Lot" and I'm hoping Joe comes thru for me here! I just received shipping confirmation on it, so soon I'll know if it's the bundle or straight game. I would ask but I like surprises
Ok so the Lets sing PS4 and Wii boxes are the same except for the UPC. So getting the PS4 box to complete the wii one won't work. I went to buy the bundle and then trade back in the game to get a reduced bundle but that wont work. So looks like the Wii bundle will still be ultra hard to obtain sealed or open.

Good find! Thanks for confirming this!
Its interesting how quickly the few that have wound up on Amazon have been snatched up. Makes me wonder if there are any other gaming communities aware of this or if its just NA lurkers. Its one of those titles that only a real Wii collecting expert would have picked up on so quickly and there aren't many of those outside this topic as far as I know. Just seems like there would have to be many more eyes on it if a game like this is getting bought within minutes of being posted online, yet this is the only place I know that it is being discussed.
@Rcjdm97 interesting and nice work on clarifying it. So that kind of rules out getting a stand alone copy of the game and frankensteining it together to get a bundle.
I think it's two fold one where this game matters to the Wii collectors and "shelf" collectors and those who "still" haven't found out about yet and really don't care until the price is obscene and supply is scarce. But the sad thing I see coming from tho is that a few of the hoarders will trickle out tho game slowly and using the previous "outlier" price which is usually high and increase it from there.
Both versions will be desirable and both versions will be hard to find but in "most" circumstances when there are a standalone version and a special bundle the special bundle will be "worth" more.
Is/will the stand alone be desirable? Or will only ones with box/microphone be hard to find?
I wouldn't hesistate getting a standalone copy if you saw one available. Since the whole title was recalled it is all going to be obscure...
This does beg the question of the bundled game perhaps being different than the standalone title in any way, but I assume the same game that is the standalone release is the same that is bundled as far as product codes and UPCs are concerned. This would require opening the bundle to absolutely confirm it which I don't think anyone is up to doing ;-)
Is/will the stand alone be desirable? Or will only ones with box/microphone be hard to find?
Personally, I would think so because the standalone copies got pulled just as fast and couldn't be any less rare. I would certainly be content with finding just the game at this point.
If anyone that already has this game sees this, I'd like to know if the bundle editions of the game say "NOT FOR RESALE" or something like that on the back of the game (assuming you don't have to break a seal to open the clear plastic outer packing).

I like the idea that we "likely" have discovered the Wii's rarest game, which should table all arguments down the road about this as far as the Wii's library is concerned (kind of like Stadium Events has done with the NES - though making that connotation doesn't mean I'm sayin it will or should go for crazy SE prices). I am still unsure about how much stock is actually out there and the hoarder thing could be an unfortunate development.
If you want to look years down the road, a game I'd maybe compare this to is Magical Chase for TG-16. That was one of the last games for the console and barely had any circulation (maybe mail order only if I recall?). Of course, that was actually a decent game, this is just a relatively uninspired children's singing game. It still has the "last game", "recalled game" and Nintendo release thing going for it, not to mention a whole trove of potential Wii full-set collectors down the road who grew up with the console. NES and SNES have a ton of full-set collectors, but Wii may get a substantial amount of them just due to pure numbers, I mean Nintendo sold about 50 million NTSC units...It'll be interesting to see what happens with this one.

Haha, you literally read my mind!
Great minds, etc!
We can likely try this with the PS4 bundle to be honest, if the UPCs match then I'd assume the same for the Wii

That's an interesting idea, I'll keep my eye out for the PS4 versions at Gamestop and see if I can't find anything.
A open box wii bundle was purchased from ebay. I would guess there is no special case/UPC for the bundle version but it still needs to be investigated.
The company used the same outer box for both the Wii and PS4 versions for the bundle, they actually just use a different UPC STICKER in a blank square on each box.
So the difference will be that sticker.
So this is reminiscent of the UPC sticker on the master system sonic the hedgehog

I don't think its the same as the master system games with the sticker. The non sonic games with upc were just euro games released in the us with the sticker upc added for our market. The sonic was never released here. So the difference with a wii specific sticker and a ps4 specific sticker wouldn't be the same as the master system. There is only 1 true bundle of each, not a euro bundle and us/euro bundle variation.

Sonic was released here in USA; though, yes, it was a Euro release with a new UPC sticker slapped over top of the euro printed UPC. When collecting USA master system games, that one little sicker makes a big difference.
My comparison was in the fact that a little UPC sticker will make the difference in having this Wii Bundle "complete in box." This because I'm more than certain people will try to pass off a PS4 Box as a Wii box to make it complete, either by keeping the wrong upc on it or peeling it off completely and pulling the "oh it never had a upc...weird"
Yeah the madness is just starting I hope no one buys it at that price. But what is even worse is that person is talking about "variations" and tries to state that "Maximum Games" are a subsidiary of "Konami". That microphone was clearly given to him at Gamestop because the store the person bought it from did not have the original bundle microphone and they swapped it and good ole Gamestop does that. I bet he tried to Frankenstein the PS4 bundle to make complete Wii bundles
Just saw the ebay post this morning, didn't think that the first crazy ebay listing would be that ridiculous but whatever. This will obviously raise the profile of the title a bit and we can see how many more come out of the woodwork...

Holy crap, I need to find this game and fast.
"Let's Sing 2016 for the Wii, unfortunately, is no longer available for sale and will not be in the future."
So no way to get any copies from them directly and no chance of a re-release.
