I snapped up a copy that was sitting on the shelf at my local GameStop. $40, no mic bundle, open 'new' copy. Figure I'd play it, see what the deal is.
Game booted up fine on my Wii U in Wii mode. I used an old Guitar Hero USB mic. The mic indeed picked up my voice, but latency was such an issue, I don't think my score was accurate. Playback of the karaoke songs with my voice tracks showed that I was behind on everything. Does anyone care about score in these games? It's just a karaoke machine.
Things I learned:
1. I can't sing for shit. At all.
2. Wii games in 2016 can be made in 4:3 aspect ratio!
3. If you don't scream into the mic, it won't pick up your voice. I even tried to adjust the mic sensitivity, didn't notice much of a difference.
4. What a weird playlist of tracks. Mostly hits from 2 summers ago (Bang Bang, Let It Go, Moves Like Jagger, All About That Bass), but also seemingly random songs from Queen/Don't Stop Me Now, Roxette/It Must Have Been Love and....TLC.
5. I haven't listened to No Scrubs in its entirety in about 16 years.
6. No unlockables, just a high score list. Play solo or multiplayer.
7. You can add effects to your voice like helium and some kind of monster. You can also pitch correct, but it doesn't sound good.
8. All About That Bass lyrics are about 80% 'all about that bass, 'bout that bass, no treble.'

Holy crap I'm so excited right now!!! I went to Gamestop and asked about Let's Sing 2016. They sold me a sealed pack of 6 (each copy includes the Mic). I already got a PM from Tim Atwood asking if I'm planning to sell any time soon.
On a serious note, the PS4 version is becoming harder to find since GameStop was the only place seemingly selling it (brick and mortar-wise) and now they have clearanced what little they had out.
