Spud's Adventure fake cart?

A buddy of mine asked me if this copy of spud's adventure is real or fake. I think it is fake because the code on the left side of the label, "TV" is nowhere to be found on the main rom chip (the one on the right). Do you guys agree or is this a real game?

  • Looks like a pretty inconspicuous fake. There is a copy for sale on eBay with pcb shots that looks quite different. Also note the sloppy corner cut on the label.
  • Congrads you have a fake.  Sorry Man.
  • The label looks fake too
  • Looks fake to me for all the reasons you listed, too. Can't see the numbers imprinted in the label either. Bummer for your friend.
  • defiantly fake. the pcb contacts are first of all rounded. real ones are rectangular. theres no nintendo logo on the board and there no brass window (most GB gbc have these brass windows) well they look like a window lol. but yes its fake for sure
  • I need to learn to look carefully at the label, as well. I've never been good at recognizing fakes just by looking at a label. But I have the security bit, and I can always find out that way. Thanks guys!
  • I have been working on a database of known embossed gameboy numbers. so far i have been able to docutoment 800+  if you have a question on legt carts just aske here and we will help.

    Best of luck.
