Ah okay, I see. It would be cool if you got into those computers today. There are so many cool games, that make for interesting challenges. Maybe its just me I tend to find the C64/Amiga games a bit harder the nes/sega ones. Maybe its due to poor controls, or just bad/amateurish design in many cases but still, there are some pretty interesting games.
Hello everyone I am new to this forum, I have a question what happens if I have beaten a game that already is marked as a beaten? Do I still get completion points?

Welcome to NA! I watched your Contra runs back in the day. Didn't know you were tackling the whole NES library, that's awesome. Something I've been thinking of trying as well. Very cool spreadsheet, lots of interesting statistics there
I watched your Star Force vod since I'm trying to beat that one too. Did you mash pause through the entire game? That's nuts! I'm honestly curious how you held the controller for that. Did you know the bosses for each stage only appear when you destroy enough enemies/buildings?
Wow, that is an impressive list of conquests TheMexicanRunner! Did you see the rules for this thread? I ask because you were questioning whether you would still earn points for games already claimed (and that answer is a definite no). Games have to be cleared entirely within this calendar year, and cannot use turbo controllers, save states (if emulating), or other cheat codes not explicitly given to you by the game's original instruction booklet. I'm hoping your list on the last page meet these criteria, because that would put a serious dent in our remaining games.
I still think turbo controllers are ok if they're said in the manual. Even tho I didnt use one for Festers Quest (ive beaten it plenty of times with turbo, so this year it was easy just had to be patient), the manual recommends one.
Welcome aboard! Not sure if you remember me but I contacted you a few months back.
You only get credit for games played within 2016 that have not already been completed by someone else.
Yeah that is why I only submitted games beaten in 2016 that were still left meeting the criteria. Since I was not the only one trying to beat all the NES games I changed the way I beat the games in game #395. There is some games that I first savestate to shortner the learning process but then I start completely from reset, no savestates, no turbo controller to beat the games, does that still applies to your rules of beating a game?

That's fine. I've definitely used save states to practice some games before (like Metal Mech and Defenders of Dynatron City).

I was not aware that you need certain enemy kills to make appear the boss, but surely you have to kill things to avoid being attacked. About how did I mash it was something like this usuing my index and middle finger I think

Well I have beaten a lot of games this calendar year and some of them probably before they were claimed beaten in this forum, but since they were already claimed in here before I did, I am not gonna complain, I was late. As I said the list I submitted meet the criteria, there is one game that I did played and considered beaten by my own standards "Pirates!" but that one doesn't meet the criteria of your winning condition since I died early in the game, when I retired dispite of saving the four family members and being Duke in one nation and finding the lost Incan treasure. So retired two below the Highest ranks, but that was due to the early lost battles in the beggining of the game.
Regarding savestates as I said earlier I have use them to get knowledge to speedup the trial and error process, but to beat a game legit I do not use them and I start the game from power on until I beat the game. If this is not allowed some of the games I beat might not meet your criteria.
By the way there is the game "Wild Gunman" that I have beaten that the winning condition listed here is not right.
The Game mode A and B have their unique enemies and then they start looping, like for game A is until you encounter the 0.4 Wild Gunman. For game B I don't remember right now but I pointed out that in my VOD while playing. The one that really changes the winning condition in this game is the Shooting Gallery mode C, after stage 20 or 21 you get a message "Master". I really found out that by setting a randon number to claim beating the game, but later on TASing someone reserched that that is the last message you get in the game stages. https://www(dot)twitch(dot)tv/themexicanrunner/v/61620673
Looks like it is! Cant wait to see this dude take down the Mutant Virus haha
Mutant Virus is a game I have previously beaten in 2013 but not for my NESMania project yet.
Impressive! This is a game that has almost ZERO info about the later levels online, and only about 3 or 4 people beat it on here. If you see my sig, I was trying to get a system to beat it. Im pretty sure its all about getting to the right rooms first. I never 'officially' beat it. Closest I came was 1 room left but I have beaten it with save states so I can make the map.
Sorry to cast any doubt on you, Mexican. It's really awesome to have you on board. Will you be tailoring your upcoming choices to some degree based on what's still on our list?
Oh, and congrats to Bea on her 100th completion of the year. Don't let scary forget to credit you for that, lady. He seems to have missed it last night in all the excitement of Mexican's debut.

I won't since the way I beat the games is based in my viewers choice. So I will beat some of those eventually but not sure when.

... It have already beaten 100 NES games this year? Geez...
I failed to notice that as I dived right back into Ikari Warriors to try to no death that bloody thing. But bloody end of stage 3 is having none of my non-sense so far.
It has been a while since I've beaten this game, so it was a good opportunity to put this card in. And thanks to my old maps it was easier than I remembered (but still hard enough, needed some tries over the past few days).

Ikari + no ABBA code = true old school gamer.
Btw are you going for the chopper glitch in level 4?

I will be pulling absolutely no glitches on my run. It will be pure old school sweat and blood suffering through it till it falls.

We didn't have access to C64 or Amiga clones, only NES clones, official Sega stuff from TecToy and MSX clones till the reserve was removed.
We only had the MSX here up to 1990 thanks to the "computer market reserve" set by the Military Dictatorship that ruled the country till 1984, so no.

Tried to get one last NES game completed before diving again on Ikari Warriors.
Also, welcome TheMexicanRunner.
