Panesian and AVE connection?

I just received a PCB for Bubble Bath Babes to be repaired today and right away I noticed that it appears to be manufactured by or at least related to AVE. It has the exact same appearance and form factor as other AVE boards (it fits perfectly into an AVE cart too). It also uses AVE's "NINA" lockout defeat chip!

Has anyone heard any info along these lines before?

  • Compare Bubble Bath Babes to Mermaids of Atlantis by AVE, there is definitely a connection somewhere.
  • Very interesting! I have never heard this before. Good eyes bootgod.

  • Or they could have possibly bought their boards from the same Asian supplier?
  • That's what I figured too, but still they would have needed some sort of license from AVE to use the NINA chip.
  • It's entirely possible that the asian supplier wasn't very scrupulous about providing the materials to someone else without telling AVE. This is a common problem dealing with Chinese manufacturers to this day.
  • Both games were developed from Computer & Entertainment (C&E) in Asia. The same company also made Ultimate League Soccer and Tiles of Fate. The rights were sold to AVE in the US. They also developed RPGs and a sport game called Decathlon. In decathlon, there are ADS for other C&E games like Soccer (Ultimate League Soccer), Bubble (probably Mermaids/BBB) and Rolltris (never heard of this game).
