Heya Folks!

Hey folks! So this is going to be a joint account, but I (Rebecca) will probably be on the most.

That’s us in the avatar pic (when we went to see the Cabazon Dinosaurs last year!).

My husband (Michael) and I have been collecting for about 10 years, but more seriously within the past 5 years after we got a house with a basement!

We collect some of everything really...games, consoles, accessories, and memorabilia from the 70's-present day.

The hobby is still fun for us, because 90% of what we have was found "in the wild".

We spend a lot of time going to thrift/junk stores, pawn shops, flea markets, yard sales, and local auctions.

The past couple years I have been repairing/reconditioning retro systems and flipping them to make money to put back into our collection (along with extra games that get picked up along the way).

I'm looking forward to meeting some folks on here to trade with. We always have a lot of extra stuff!

  • Welcome to NA! and thanks for sharing your story with us.
  • Welcome to the site!
  • ola gaming couple. Welcome to Hotel NA, where the games are plentiful, but unfortunitly, aren't free
  • Hi Rebecca! How strong do you think yours and Michael's relation is? Because I know a guy with a pack of hotdogs looking to CDi Zelda and chill. Kidz Bop optional.

    Welcome!
  • Greetings
  • This started out as a joint account with my twin brother who eventually registered as "Ichinisan." Until about two weeks ago all of our stuff collected in the last three decades was also found "in the wild," which DEFINITELY feels better.

A few weeks ago I got tired of watching prices rise. It seems like our retro Nintendo collecting in the wild hit a brick wall after the rest of the world caught on. This kinda stuff just disappeared from yard sales and thrift store and now it almost isn't worth stopping. In the last several years of slim pickings, my collection actually shrank (deadbeats who don't return stuff, a burglary, lost items, friend's apartment fire, etc), which is why I have finally started seeking out trades and auctions and such. First goal: replace everything I once had and flesh out the collection with anything I know I missed and should have experienced.

We'll have you trading in no time.
  • Welcome aboard guys!
  • Nice to meet ya!
  • Thanks for all the welcomes!

Dang, that really sucks about losing so much stuff

We don't let anyone borrow anything EVER! We prefer to have freinds over for game days/nights.

Yeah, I feel ya about stuff "drying up", some thrift stores catch on and try to price stuff according to ebay asking prices! So luckily I get out a few times a week, and they are required to mark things down when it doesn't sell, so I eventually get a good deal. lol

I already have one purchase on here, just awaiting feedback!

It was with Lurchzilla. I "met" him on ebay through a large purchase, then we did another large private deal, then signed up on here to start getting feedback for a 3rd transaction ^_^

I didn't even notice there was a link. guh!

Yeeeeah...I think i'll pass (for now). lol
  • I'm gonna post this on my own thread since no one will probably care....

So I got a nice "warm welcome" earlier by some asshat that got their knickers in a bunch. I was told I was annoying for posting on new members threads. WTF!?!

Perhaps this member says that to everyone? But seems pretty freakin rude to say that to a new member that is trying to be as equally accommodating to other new members.

I suppose I won't waste anymore time writing something as trivial as "Heya! ^_^"

So if any other new members see this... Hello and Welcome as well!

    LOL
