Have a Game Boy that doesn't turn on.
I was given a DMG Game Boy for xmas that won't power on. I don't have much experience with the technical aspect of consoles, so I was hoping if I posted photos of the internals that someone might be able to tell me what's wrong. Thank you!

Check the battery contacts. Is there any corrosion build up? If so you can remove most of the contacts fairly easily and drop them in a cup of vinegar for a few minutes. The ones you can't remove you can clean with a q-tip and vinegar. That's always been the simple solution for me to Game Boys that would not even power on.
Thank you so much!! It did not occur to me it would be such an easy solution. It turns on just fine now.

Happy to help. The first time I tried it I was thinking the same thing. "No way this is going to be this easy." Then the THREE DMG units I had that would not power on came on and played perfectly. All you might need to do now is get a q tip with some rubbing alcohol and clean the cartridge slot contacts up nicely. Don't forget to clean the contacts on your games too!
