Offering misc services! Shrink-wrapping, chip swapping, etc.
Not sure where to post this, but I figured the people who are looking for these kind of services would come to this page.
I recently purchased a shrink-wrapping machine for my home so I dont have to use the one at work anymore. So if anyone needs me to shrinkwrap things for them, for example, a reproduction release, please feel free to contact me. Just pay for the shipping and throw me a few dollars for the plastic. I will not shrink wrap a game for the intention of faking a sealed game however, so please none of that.
Also, I see a lot of people who have games that dont work. If you think the board is dead, broken, burned out, etc but you still want to get it to work, I can swap the chip to a donor cart for you which will typically fix the game. Keep in mind, this may diminish the value of the game since it wont be on its original board, and the solder wont look like it came from the factory. For example, today I fixed a copy of Smash bros for n64 by putting the chip on a Ken Griffey board. The board was completely broken in half from someone trying to jam the cart in the system too hard. Again, just pay for the shipping and throw me a couple bucks and Ill be happy to help you out.

Hopefully games that have been fixed like this would have some markings on the outer cart shell, to avoid being further sold as genuinely non-tampered?
I have a Sega Genesis game, Alisia Dragoon, that doesn't work. The game is clean and the contacts are shiny. If I send you the game and another Genesis game you think you can fix it?
If you don't see anything physically wrong with it there's a chance that the ROM is bad, which means troubleshooting. I think he's offering to move the ROM when it's obvious that something else is wrong (broken PCB, bad contacts, etc). Some broken Genesis carts just need a capacitor while others are not so lucky. I have a mint Sonic the Hedgehog that doesn't work at all.

Dam ok. It's the wierdest thing. Cart is mint but I get nothing but a black screen.

Might as well just send it to me, and I'll try anyways! Ive had carts that look great but dont work and the rom was still fine. PM me if you want to give it a shot
You're a good man! How much did a machine like that cost ya?
The whole setup only cost me a couple hundred but the actual plastic wrap was the most expensive part lol.
Genuinely nice of you to offer a service like that, especially the ROM transplants.

Thanks!
Well I guess my hope is that these are just games from peoples personal collections that they wish to play
Know anyone who fixes virtual boys so I don't have to try the oven trick for the adhesive? I'd pay them and to fix (I believe both are having issues)
