I just hope Ikari Warriors don't make to the slated list of games for 2017.
You can loop it endlessly and I don't want to spend three full days looping it non-stop to break 10 million points in it.
It would be you and arnpoly in the top 2 and nobody else coming close.
There isn't much randomness on the enemy spawn and behavior there as well, so after you figure out how to beat it, you can do it as many times as you want, so a lot of people would easily break the one million mark in it with two loops.

Well I'm not sure if I could clear the game without putting in quite a bit more practice. I've only done it once! I think I could make it to the final stage pretty regularly though which would put me in decent standing.
The 2017 game list is almost finalized. guillavoie and myself are just tweaking a few games on the schedule and then it will be ready to be released. Hoping to have it up early this coming week

I might throw my hat back into the ring this year. There's one game I PM'd Bimmy about and if it's on the list... Oh you know ima go hard for at least that week!
Quick question about Bayou Billy? Seeing how it's partially a light gun game is there going to hopefully be a rule about light gun being mandatory ? I think people using a light gun might have a disadvantage to the folks that will be playing on a PC emulator. Just a thought !

We'll probably be playing Game B that uses the controller and crosshair instead of the light gun, or we'll be able to choose either. A lot of people don't even have a CRT and zapper, or will be playing on an emulator.

Ah yes! Game mode B! Dammit! I was hoping we'd all have to use a light gun
Amusingly we're playing two games this year that alternate between side scrolling, driving, and first person shooting... Bayou Billy and Vice Project Doom.

Thank again for running this guys. This will give me an excuse to play games I've never gotten around to trying before (Guardian Legend, Life Force, Kickle Cubicle, etc), stuff I've criminally only played a time or two (Double Dragon II, Contra), and a reason to pick up stuff I never got around to buying

Ohhhhh I can't wait.
I hope for a few fun platformers.
I'm aiming to finally win a weekly contest this year.
Being new to the forum myself, I'm going to try and participate as much as I can in these sorts of things. Hopefully I can take home a win!

I actually kind of like the idea of tracking this...
Which one of you is going to step up and break through
Which one of you is going to step up and break through
Hell yeah, then we can see someone participate every week, never get a first place win and then win it all
2/12/17
Oh good, another Paperboy game, lol.
My familiarity is obviously low, and I don't have time to grind them this time, but maybe I can squeeze out a win somewhere somehow
Double Dragon 2 (Beat 'Em Up)
Paperboy 2 (Arcade)
Adventures of Bayou Billy (Beat 'Em Up)
Vice: Project Doom (Action/Platformer)
Contra (Action/Platformer)
Side Pocket (Sports) (1st Time)
And even then, I am not sure about some of them. In the end, it might be just Paperboy 2 and Side Pocket.
Paperboy 2 will be interesting. I only played it on SNES. I will give the NES port a try and see if I can get half decent at it.
The other games I have little to no interest in playing competitively.
