Does anyone on NA offer tablet repair?
Just wondering if anyone on NA does some tablet repair work on the side. My Sony S model: sgpt112us/s has basically become a useless paper weight.
I've performed every manner of reset that is possible, but I fear that the problem is that the digitizer is broken or disconnected somehow. The side buttons (power & volume) still work, and the device responds to them, so I dont believe it to be a software freeze. However there is not a single spot on the touch surface that generates a reposnse. Like I said, I did a hard reset and all that did was wipe out all data that was on it, and get me stuck on the language selection screen. Since the touch screen won't register a response, I can't pick a language to move forward in the setup process.
I'd rather not tear it open myself, but I probably will as a last resort. First though, I'd like to see if anyone here might have some experience with this kind of work and might like to take a crack at it for a fee.
Post here, or PM me. Either is fine.
Thanks!

I take it's been dropped?
Is the glass broken or cracked?
Have you tried gently twisting the unit to see if it get any touch reactions?
(actually did this to my phone once and it actually started working again, which afterwards I broke the habit of keeping it in my back pocket and sitting on it. still working too.)

If it's not responsive to touch your most likely going to have to replace the entire glass and all as it as the digitizer are all one piece.

Glass isn't cracked at all. I don't believe it's been dropped (I know I haven't dropped it and there aren't any chips on the edges or corners that would indicate a drop). It's been sat on a couple of times though.
I'll try twisting when I get home later. That case is sturdy though, very rigid. But I'll give that a shot.

I would try getting a hold of retrofixes. Not sure if he does repairs like this but he is a very handy fella and exceptionally friendly too!!
Do you know what he typically works on? I have a Saturn that needs fixed as well
