Looking for some info. N64 game Motherboard question.

I have someone offering me a copy of Paper Mario but there is a chunk missing out of the motherboard where the pins normally are.  The person says it does not work, but I was wondering if this could be a candidate for a motherboard swap and if so, what other games use this motherboard?  Any info would be greatly appreciated.
