My thoughts exactly, I have only had about 120 transactions but still.

He didn't post a picture of that specific part for a reason......just take this as a lesson OP.

Returns should be the exception, not the norm. I'm sure eBay doesn't want to encourage impulse buys just to have the buyer constantly return. I wouldn't be surprised at all if eBay looked at your recent history and decided not to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one.

You'd be best off changing your mindset about buying. Do what you can to be comfortable with what you are buying before purchase, not after.

This. OP, you're the common denominator. Even if the seller was wrong in this instance and had hidden some damage, it seems you're continually running into these kinds of scenarios.

I buy plenty on eBay.  I'll sometimes look at the pictures only or rush and only look at a few of them while neglecting to read a description.  Sometimes they show up in lesser than condition than I had expected, but that's on me. As a seller myself, I'm not going to hold someone else hostage because I didn't do my part as a buyer.  If items and their condition are this important to you, it might be a good idea to communicate with the sellers more ahead of time or before the item is shipped so that everyone is happy.

    True dat
  • The seller did mention it had wear and categorized it as "good" condition. You can even see some of the wear in the pictures. What you should have done is requested the seller to take pictures of the back, or other areas that may concern you, and then make your decision then. I don't know if you are nitty picky or what not, but I can see why Ebay ruled against you. I don't think it is the seller's fault. In your case, I think you have to live and learn.
  • In the future, ask for more pictures. Consider this a cheap and minor lesson in eBay etiquette. The 30 seconds that it takes to ask for a picture is much less than the time spent packing the item for a return and going to the post office. It also saves you from having to pay any return shipping... which eBay does not always cover for you. Paying $3 to return a $25 item is silly when asking for pictures would have prevented everything.
  • I do ask a lot of questions and don't buy a lot of times and it still happens. As bad off as these look and are described these auctions look acceptable from the pics shown and when I believe the Sellers description I buy them. I'm sort of scraping the bottom of the barrel as it is. I'm also gritting my teeth knowing I'm paying more than I think they're worth. I've been throught his thousands of times before. A ot of these Sellers rely on the law of averages.

Sometimes these things happen in bunches. It's not until I you open the package and actually see it with my own eyes is when I have to decide to return it or let the Seller get away with playing the law of averages. Ebay's policy is to get the Buyer and Seller to try and work things out by e-mail. I've got better things to do than argue with people on a computer. Some Sellers enjoy arguing, I DON'T. It's a complete waste of time. So I just file a claim. Up until now it's always worked in my favor and the Sellers accept their responsibilities. I know how this works that doesn't mean it's never going to happen... again.

All these devious selling tricks and then having eBay not back me up is probably the biggest reason why I stopped buying/collecting Video games many years ago.

I'm trying to get back into it but it's still a great big headache.
