Slow shipping from Canada

Ok, so I have several CIB NES games on the way from Canada. I bought them over a month ago and he said they were shipped. He even provided canada post tracking and it has shown them as arriving in the US on Jan 14th for the last 3 weeks.

So I am patiently waiting and wondering is this normal? I buy/sell to Canada a lot and have never had to wait this long. I wouldn't be too worried on one game but this is several games that I paid $100+ for.

The seller isn;t very helpful but does respond with short answers when I contact him.

I guess I am not sure how to proceed, if at all?

  • It is very possible the games have been stopped at the border. I have had that happen (and I think it's happened to me again with a recent trade). It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.
  • Like Freedman said, it doesn't happen all the time, but once in a while customs will hold a package for a while. It sucks, but the stuff ends up coming in time.
  • But dont they realize they are holding my minty NES gaming goodness? Damn them!

So how much longer should I wait before I start asking him to look into it?
  • It took right at a month for some Nintendo Power magazines I sent to get to Dr. Morbis. Sometimes it just takes... a long time to get stuff to/from Canada.

Yet sometimes it can be real fast. I've sent stuff and it's gotten there that week. I've also shipped within Canada and have had it take three weeks.

Postal system just blows chunks here.
  • Customs has been extra crappy lately. I can't tell you how many unhappy Canucks I had this holiday season. Some packages to up to 7 weeks to arrive.
  • Shipping is usually less than 2 weeks whenever I ship to or get something from the USA, but like everyone has said, customs is the killer and can slow it down.
  • And they are also doing a crappy job at that: look at Dan's Rodland, lol. Hopefully your package won't be like that.
  • it can take a while I've had to waite almost a month and a half on some gammes with tracking number in hand stuck in customs. I have yet to recieve my happy camper but then again its only been like a week but damn waiting is tough for such a gem..... image
  • Canada to US I normally expect 3-5 weeks. Sometimes 2, usually three, but occasionally 5.
  • Hey US to Canada can take a while as well.. I sent 3 packages to Canada last month, 2 were there in a week.. One is missing MIA..
  • Most packages make it in 5-10 days sent first class from US to Canada. Customs can hold anything it wants for as long as it wants. I have had some packages make it in 3 days, and one from Basil took 2.5 months once. If you have the customs form number from where he sent it, I can try and track it for you at work on the postal intranet.

  • customs is such bullshit. they really need to work on a better system. really a joke at this point. no regulation.
  • Dude this is very normal for it to take this long, canada post are lazy mother*****rs,so do not get stressed out about it and u also have to remember that there is no shipping on saturday, like there is in the states.
  • Update: After 2 months still not received so I have went to Paypal.

I am pretty sure Customs has taken my minty boxed games. Those bastards!
