But for real these threads are awful, "calling the next spike". The whole damn system is gonna be in spike mode now that it's the 20th anniversary. So heads up, 2021 is gonna be a hell of a spike year for the N64. There, future thread averted.

  • After finishing a loose n64 cart set. I can say that it took me forever to find Allstar Tennis 99... I saw it once in the quest to finish n64. The one time I saw it.. it had a destroyed label. Was a $5-10 game in 2012... now its a $15-20 game 4 years later. By the op's logic.. that should have gone way up.
  • Stunt Racer 64 spiked in the last few months. Went form being $30-50, then shot up to $180-220, now it's looking to be about $120-150. Still a pretty big price increase in the last couple months.

Really? Man, I really must've breezed through this set. There really was no game where I was like "crap, I CANNOT find this game in good shape!", and yet I hear other talk all the time about this game or that one was difficult to track down.

good gravy! I've been busy for the last 4-6 weeks so I haven't been on ebay. There was a mint copy on NA for $30 that sat for a couple weeks in December and I bought a copy for $40 this summer. I am floored vgpc is $150. I don't understand how the market spikes so fast. It feels like a race against time to finish a set...

Over the summer I lost a bid on a good condition copy for $51, outbid by a dollar, and last week I searched for the game and I too was floored by the price increase. Insanity. It probably is a race against time.
  • There's no race on Stunt Racer now, it already had it's hype spike and I'm sure plenty of people raided their local stores to bring them to market. Now it will go through the long lull / downtrend as it cools off. It won't get back to where it was of course but it won't shoot up again for a long time either.
  • Stunt racer definitely climbing

Well All Star Tennis 99 and International Superstar Soccer 2000 were two games I just never saw. Luck of the draw I guess. I saw many harder to find titles all the time.

  • I'm gonna chime in and say that there will be MANY other games that go up before Turok 3 does...

As far as which cart only games that will be next to break $100+? Those would probably be, Goemon (both games), Stunt Racer, Starcraft 64, Harvest Moon, Conker's Bad Fur Day (I think it has already broke into the 100+ price point though), and probably Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals, at some point. With the way N64 prices are going right now, it really wouldn't surprise me if some random game around the $10-$20 range just randomly shot up to the $80+ range practically overnight.

Shit, you called it on Stunt Racer, lol

It was pretty easy to see coming, Star Soldier or one of the Goemon games are probably next. I'd keep an eye on a couple of those Fighting games too though.
