Some really good chatter here on 0804, I also agree ZBomber there feels to be too much left to address in just 2 episodes, but they are closing out pieces nicely.
Some additions...
- Tormund went back North with the remaining Wildings and Ghost - poor Ghost got straight shafted by Jon, WTF was that all about. Some say that since he is not the Bastard Stark anymore, he might be showing transition into a possible heir to the throne.
- Sam and Gilly - did they leave too?
- Putting to rest all these people we've been following for years, only giving 5 minutes for that entire scene would not be proper justice.
- CleganeBowl 2019 - the countdown is on
- Funny that Arya and Hound are back together on a travel
- Jamie was a douche to Brienne on purpose, likely so she wouldn't go after him. She sure seemed like a sick love puppy after a night of romance lol...it's pretty clear he's going to finish Cersei off without formally stating it.
- Sansa is up to something - for sure, what is it?
- I have to agree with the pacing to an extent, the flash forward with Dany standing at the doors of KL was kind of odd, and the whole Hands convo was weak sauce. I also am confused knowing how psycho Cersei is, that she just let that "small" group of people stand there - the war could have nearly been won by decimating Dany and Crew.
- Euron might turn on Cersei - just a hunch. Tyrion voiced her pregnancy in front of everyone...how could he have known if was "Eurons"? I think this implies a notion that he may find out it's Jaimes and snap
I think the folks that are complaining simply might not be that much into the show. There is SO MUCH going on in every scene that it's like us watching a final puzzle being put together. To complain that ABC could have been covered in 1 season or a number of minutes...you do know how incredibly profitable this show is for HBO...if you were getting paid you'd stretch it out too
I agree with just about everything said here. The only thing is, Cersi knows that if she would have slaughtered everyone at the gate when it was clearly an attempt to talk, the people would surely turn on her and it would become a Mad King situation again. So her crazy is actually a very smart crazy lol. Same reason she didnt kill Tyrion there. She killed Missandei for the message to leave because they were threatening the throne and she was a prisoner of war (as the people i think would see it).
From Cersei's/the people's perspective, this is a foreign ruler coming to usurp their Queen. The people in KL don't have all the information we do, and they also probably don't care too much if Dany/Jon is a more deserving ruler or not, they just see her as a foreigner and usuper and it's been mentioned several times in the show that getting the loyalty of the people would be extremely difficult. Tyrion literally killed their father, was framed with killing King Joffery, and was actively working with a foreign power to take the city, committing treason. Not to mention that Cersei hates him more than she hates anyone else. Killing him wouldn't have reflected any more poorly on her than anything else she has done in the show and gotten away with, and defintely wouldn't cause an uprising since Tyrion was not well liked by the commoners anyway.
The whores liked him well enough.
Not as much as Podrick
See him in the last episode walk off w/ two chicks? Good ol' Pod.
Ghost deserved better than John, not even a goodbye pat on the head. What a jerk!
Yea, that part had me bent out of shape. It is supposedly showing Johns "transition" from Stark to Targaryen. But I dont care what the representation was supposed to be. Still pissed me off the way he did him like that.
I like the thought of Arya and Clegan sneaking into the the castle and taking people out. The next episode should be good. I feel like the season is finally in a good place. Also, I think someone should kill Varys. He's failed multiple leaders before and he shouldn't be allowed to turn on Khaleesi.

I wonder though, are they going to have The Mountain kill Arya in order to start Cleganebowl?

I don't think they will let Aria kill Cersi since she killed the Night King. And I might be mistaken, but I think the mountain is the only other person on Arya's list. They've gotta let Clegane get at the Mountain since that is his one goal. So it's likely the two will fight the Mountain together at least for a bit.
One complaint i dont understamd is how people say the writing for the show now sucks like something changed being the reason.
Its the same writers who wrote the whole show. People keep acting like they changed writers or something. D&D wrote like 50 something of the the 70 something episodes. The other 20 were mainly 2 other dudes who also wrote episode 1 and 2 of this season. George RR martin wrote usually 1 episode a season the first few as well.
the first few seasons i remember all the complaints about how its too slow. Then it was too quick season 7, then its too slow again season 8, now its too rushed again season 8.
im looking forward to the last 2 episodes. I dont have a fixated way on how i want it to end. Just going to go along for the ride. Ive enjoyed this season quite a bit

Man it is clear as night and day that something has changed.
The dialog has changed. The pacing has changed. The humor, the drama, the shocking moments everything has changed.
They might be the show writers but they were working from a blueprint. Without it they are lost. Two more and it’s over. Can’t wait.
Phleo why would you even go around the internet for spoliers. Of course its going to becawesome or terrible. People are lame now.
Buy atari, im not noticing this change in humor, dialog. All ive noticed is pace in parts which is for obvious reasons.
the first 2 elisodes were very typical game of thrones character dialog and building with interaction moments but you were complaining about it wanting it to hurry up. Cant stand the way the internet culture is now. Everything has to be the best ever or suck completely.

I didn’t look for them. They were spoiled for me days ago and then I seen a random article on reddit front page that confirmed what I thought was just a fan theory.
I didn't hate the first two episodes. I thought it perhaps wasn't the wisest move after making fans wait almost 2 years between seasons, but on their own the episodes were fine.
My problem now is they are sprinting towards a finish line and damning side characters and stories that in the past would have been given much more attention. I hated (and that isn't a term I use often) the night king payoff. Jon ignoring Ghost sucked, Iron islands being retaken off screen, the 2nd dragon dying in a completely unrealistic manner, the unnamed 'new Dorne prince'. These are just some of the recent questionable handlings. It screams to me that the writers just want to be done at this point.
I'm not going to say I don't like the show, but my excitement level is at an all time low, which it shouldn't be for 2 episodes left.
I always thought cersei was the finale of the show. Everyone got so hyped for the night king. I was excited for it but i guess not to everyone elses expectation level of that sub plot. Looking back im just tryingvto think how would you have kearned anymore about the night king? Whats the difference in killing him at the end of tge episode vs the middle of the next one. How on earth were they supposed to get away and fight the dead again later? The battle had to end. The story is about the throne, not the night king. Makes sense to finish the story for the throne. Some people here wanted the night king to slaughter everyone and win. What kind of show is that? Liie ive said before all i wanted more out of the battle of winterfell was i wished jon faught more white walkers, and maybe bran doing something a little cooler to help instead of just letting events play out knowing what was about to happen.
I didn't really even feel like I NEEDED to learn more about NK. I just wanted him to come in and the end of the story be "Well of COURSE these petty squabbling 'lords' didn't beat the gigantic army of the FUCKIN UNDEAD. What did you expect?". I wanted to see the North demolished, and the South to follow suit.

Ohh it’s nowhere close to what it once was.
One example that stood out to me is the repeated one liners from previous seasons.
Tyrion has had a large share of the screen this year so far and with good reason. He is after all one of the most fan loved and funniest characters of the series.
Has Tyrion had any funny lines this year that were not word for word direct quotes of things that he has already said in previous seasons?
I always thought tormund was the funniest character the last few seasons. Atleast he was for me. I liked tyrions character more the first few seasons. Since hes been with team dragon hes kind of shifted to a character i like but not my favorite anymore. Tormund was my favorite but i guess his story is over.
Don’t be a fool. What’s hyperbole is stabbing a human being in the head and watching them pull the knife out. If one is 18 and likes explosions (no idea if that’s you) then it was a great episode. If you’re my age and what drew you to the series was a rich, layered, multifaceted and unpredictable story then that’s not what you got here. You got explosions and Bruce Lee where cutting someone makes them stronger.

Lololoolol its a fantasy story! The mountain is a zombie!!! They literally brought him back to life in the form of a monster. We have people riding dragons breathing fire, people getting brought back to life, an army of the dead, a lady lighting stuff on fire with her hands snd you are talking about realism? Lololololol
i have seen 3-4 articles on facebook feed about the episode being bad, but unlike the backlash comments in previous weeks people all seem pretty happy this time besides the hyperbolic people that were going to hate anything and everything because it makes them feel cool. Really easy to hop on the hate train.
Clegane bowl was one of the best parts of the episode.

I mean... I feel like by now we know The Mountain was basically a zombie. We've seen ACTUAL zombies in the show. It doesn't take a huge leap of imagination to think that The Mountain could take a knife to the face.
