I am now going for a full Atari Activision loose set

Working my way up to a full Activision set first, but eventually going for all the Atari carts loose and maybe some boxed

Current collection:

Just got this lot in from member here, Wonderboy, great dude to deal with. Took way too long to get a river raid cart  also excited to have picked up hero, that's one of the pricier ones. I believe this puts me passed half way, not counting label variants.

  • Nice. Looks like none of the labels are peeling up yet. My favorite is River Raid.

yeah they had a few more titles where I got these but they were missing top labels and stuff so I passed. Still need river raid, one of the best from what I've heard! Although I'll always stand by Kaboom
  • That is a great set to collect! But wow the actiplaque is really rough ln those labels.

Also do yourself a solid and get a green pitfall, blue pitfall just feels wrong .best of luck on your quest.

When you pick up starmaster give it a playthrough.

keystone capers is a really great game that doesn't get mmentioned when talkkng about activision classics

haha yeah I figure that's just something I need to accept with these. I don't think I've ever seen a real minty label in person. I saw a dark blue ice hockey like my pitfall at the place i was at too, maybe I'll go for them all, including the blues
  • Echoing the obvious - what a great set to collect. Very few 2600 Activision games have let me down. Definitely my go-to titles! (I think River Raid has been sitting in my 7800 for a couple of months now)
  • Crackpots is awesome! Used to play that with my dad back in the day. Good luck with the collection.

Let me know if you ever find a Skiing with that kind of label.    Last one I need.

sure thing mang! I just found some info on Atariage about the label variants, I think I might go for all of them too
  • If you're looking for fun games to play as you pick them up, I recommend Plaque Attack.
  • Activision made some of the best games for the 2600. They put real work into their games.

thanks for the recommendation! I actually passed on a plaque attack today, due to a torn off end label. I'll definitely keep an eye open for a nicer one

I agree, crazy to think about how they were back then compared to today

Barnstorming is also a good one and you should also collect the 20th century fox atari games sometime.

im going to see how I feel after Activision is done and then I'm thinking possibly imagic next. But at that point I'll probably just keep going through each subset til I finish or get bored
  • You need to get Megamania and HERO.

Rampage is on the somewhat pricier side too.
  • Besides the blue label variants there are picture variants too. I think I'm still missing the second Bridge artwork. It was a fun set to both collect and play. I've broken too many controllers playing Kaboom!

    Awesome 2600 game.

  • How many are in the set? I probably have like 30 of these that I was going to sell in a few months.
  • Nice man, having collection goals is something I have had an issue with lately.

    Get those damn carts!

I believe it's 33 or something in the regular colourful labels, then there's the dark blue and black variants and some with full art labels. Not entirely sure on the number, just going off memory. Also I may be interested: p

thank you! So double checked, there's 33 standard label, 11 full art, 18 blue, 18 white and 2 black according to Atariage. Although I remember seeing HERO in black and they don't have that noted, so I'm not sure how accurate it is
  • Cool! I have a large 2600 collection (152 games,) and I've always had a soft spot for Activision titles as well. Got most of them when I was 13/14, and got half of the set you go by unintentionally.

    Good luck in your findings.
  • I just happened to pick up Activision Collection as my most recent PS2 game. The main hub of the game has a revolving rack with the actual Atari carts that you plug into an actual Atari 2600. They even made carts for the unreleased games. There is a radio playing authentic 80s songs for background music that you can turn on or off. Pretty cool.
  • Cool collection idea. I think, variants not included, there are like 30 or so titles in this subset. Shouldn't be too tough to knock out, and there are some great titles. It's s win-win.
  • Nice!  Here's a photo I took a while back of some of my favorites.  I love Activision.
