I am really digging my new Wii U
So, I found a CIB Wii U on CL with four games (Nintendo Land, New Super Mario U, NBA 2K13, and Call of Duty Black Ops 2) for $100. Couldn't turn that deal down. I have since also added Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2 with 1, and Wonderful 101. I also have Rodea. I have been playing Pikmin 3 and Nintendo Land mostly, but I am really impressed with it. I would have never given it a chance, but I am so glad I did! Pikmin 3 is way awesome so far. I just started Day 3, so I'm barely into it. Makes me think that if they could have marketed it better, the Wii U would have done much better. All it took was a try and I'm hooked.

I'll say that the touch screen does come in handy as an on-the-fly-meny for many games. Not having to pause a game for every minute option is really neat

I agree with ya, ifightdra600ns.
When I picked mine up last year, it felt like it was the start of a new generation like the SNES with a new Mario game, a new Mario Kart, a new Star Fox, but they alienated a lot of 3rd party developers. If you wanted to play the blockbuster titles, you need a PS4 or XBone.
The game pad had so much more potential, especially with the streaming video to it instead of the TV.
$100 is a very solid deal there. I got mine when Mario Maker came out. Loved that so far. The only other game I've picked up is Super Smash Bros.
I have like 20 games but the only ones I've played are those two. That's really all you need

Oh my lawd.....if you love it already with those game prepare to get a massive raging nintenboner! You are only getting started on the greatest console man. Agree 100% marketing was terrible for such a fantastic product
I still have sealed copies of Twilight Princess HD, Devil's Third and Rodea that I eventually need to crack open.
NBA 2K13 is 35+
Black Ops 2 20
Nintendo land 10
NSMBU 30
you got nearly 100 dollars worth of games dude. that is a disgustingly good find. Who the hell would sell it that low?

Someone who isn't a Butter Monster.
I love that you are able to use the Gamecube controller for most games and I use it all the time.
what meow? You have just changed my life

Most games that are able to be played with the Wii U controller can also be played using a gamecube controller. Mario Kart 8, Smash and Bayonetta just to name a few.

Whoa what? Using the adaptor that came with smash?
edit: Actually, let me be more specific. The PDP fight pads are junk. I can't believe Nintendo allowed their name to be put on these turds.

You do know that "gimmicky controller" is usually optional right? That is you can use the Pro Controller if you want...I like to do that and have the touch screen in front of my lap so I get the best of both worlds! For some reason even though I have big hands (I must be the exception regarding the saying about men with big hands ) the table controller feels a bit too heavy for my tastes.
At least that's better than the vast majority of Wii games where you're made to swing around that WiiMote.
I wish Ninty had just kept using the GC controller in their systems like Sony did with the Dual Shock. Looks like I have an excuse to buy an adapter now. Too bad the new GC controllers are junk.

You mean like how Nintendo put their name on such wonderful gems like the Roll 'N Rocker and the Slowboard, eh I mean Speedboard? At least the Power Glove had some potential...they just cut a few too many corners on it.

Of course. The problem is that when Nintendo is touting this "revolutionary" tablet controller as the main focus of the system, most of the games and experiences will be quite heavy-handedly developed around a concept that - in my eyes - doesn't really innovate or improve the gaming experience all that much.
It's obviously what's kept most major developers away from developing their key titles for the system, along with its underpowered specs.
Having optional controllers doesn't really fix this issue. Although it is nice to be able to play some of the games in a more traditional - and arguably better - way.
