Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Question

Probably a noob question but its bugging me:

ok i am trying to do alchemy but it appears i am missing containers? for the mixes. In alchemy It says missing ingredient and highlights the center item but doesnt give me an item name or description of whats missing. They all seem varied (size/shape) so i assume i find them or buy them from merchants. is there a way to see what they are actually called? And is there a good place to buy/find them? For example: Im trying to make swallow for a quest but cant find a potion bottle or whatever is needed from any of the merchants I have access to. Im on PS4 if that matters. Also, I googled the hell out of this to no avail. thanks

    Herbalist. Got to find them and during your travels you will get certain recipes through various vendors but mostly herbalist and random loot finds. Be sure to check your potions carefully as most ingredients you can make and not even realize it.

    Edit: Also, the herbalist in White Orchard usually is most people starting point for alchemy and she carries tons of goid stuff to get you started along with quest that net you potions I believe. Also, once youve made a potions or aquired it you never have to make it again, just got to kerp some alcohol on you to refill.

    Ok, pic for reference. I need the middle potion container item apparently. I have no idea what its called as i cant highlight it. I havent seen them on any merchants or herbalists yet in the game. I have a ton of alchemy stuff but none of the containers to hold them. I did try the first herbalist (swallow potion quest) but she is not selling any containers that I saw.

    That just shows you what it looks like. The item you are missing is the brain looking thing on the bottom right, it says "0/2". 



    Nothing requires a container to my knowledge. 



    Edit: It actually says "0/1" but im on my phone and cant fix my OP. it also appears you are missing the alcohol (green bottle on the top)

    All the 3 items need to be present to make the swallow.

    Right, this isnt my screenshot though. Its an example i grabbed. I coulda swore on my game I have all the components but I guess ill look again since maybe I really noobed it up and didnt have all the components.

    Yeah I dont recall ever needing a container. Also see what it says under swallow on the left menu on your game, its been a while since I played it. 



     now that I think of it, I had a quest that had glitched and it wouldn't let me do whatever I had to do to finish the quest and I wonder if it was that one. It was one of the first quests and I had to restart it and the second time it worked fine.

    Yeah i was wondering if it was a glitch. Its gonna bug me if i have to skip it.

    That green vial is dwarven spirit and you can get it from batkerps and just about anywhere you loot something. Also, KEEP your monster drops as they can be broken down in your tailoring/blacksmithing for lesser ingredients you may need.

    Also, you have to hold down like square or X to create and NOT move until its done. I kept screwing that up because I'd click the button to "creat" then move to another potion and it cancels it.

    This is the stuff that turned me off The Witcher 2. If I'm a guy walking around with two swords that last thing I want to be doing is mixing potions. Blech! I miss the action replay so much.

    got the potion made. I was missing a drowner brain.



    Not to figure out all this inventory stuff...

    Just wait until you get into Gwent. I didn't get it and found it really annoying at first, then once I figured it out and got some decent cards I couldn't stop playing it with every random merchant I came across.

    So much this... Hated at first then fell in love and became addicted lol. Then really sad that I missed some cards that were mission based that I'd already done.

    oops i killed the griffin super early and went to the next area. loaded a save as i had a lot left to discover.
