If you could only have 20 games across all platforms, what would they be?

I couldn't find a topic like this, but if it already exists sorry, let me know  you can have only twenty games for any console you want. These are the only games you can have for the rest of your life, no reselling. And no compilations, if an enhanced version was released such as Mario All-stars and you prefer that version, each game on the compilation counts as one game. Assume servers for online heavy games will be up indefinitely. Just curious what people would pick if they were stuck with only 20 games.

Super Mario World - SNES

Super Mario 3 - NES

Super Mario Maker - Wiiu

Mario 64 - N64

Pokémon Crystal - GBC

Paper Mario - N64

Zelda Link to the Past - SNES

Pocky and Rocky - SNES

Super C - NES

Mike Tyson Punch Out - Nes

Tetris - Gameboy

Guitar Hero 2 - Xbox 360

EA Skate 3 - Xbox 360

Mega Man 2 - NES

Rocket Knight Adventures - Genesis

Ristar - Genesis Sonic 2 - Genesis

Kaboom - 2600

Super Smash Bros 4 - Wiiu

Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius - SFC

I like Mario a lot  if Mario Maker had all the tools to completely re create Mario world and 3 they'd be off the list but there's a few features missing so as it stands I'm keeping them. A lot of the others are games that im nostalgic for or games that I could see spending lots of time on practicing speedruns, highscores or just fucking around in. I also tried to have a variety of genres so I don't get bored of something. Let's hear yours!

    Nostalgic reason.
  • I'll try to mix it up a bit and cover some different things:

The Legend of Kyrandia II : The Hand of Fate (PC-CDROM)

The Elder Scrolls II : Daggerfall (PC-CDROM)

    Civilization 5 (PC-STEAM)

    Counter-Strike (PC-STEAM)

    Diablo (Battle.NET)

    Starcraft (Battle.NET)

    Marble Madness (NES)

    The Legend of Zelda (NES)

    Final Fantasy VI (SNES)

    Secret of Mana (SNES)

    Point Blank (Arcade)

    Street Fighter II (Arcade)

    Banzai Run (Pinball)

    Bride of Pin-Bot (Pinball)

    NHL '94 (Genesis)

    Rocket Knight Adventures (Genesis)

    Final Fantasy VII (PS1)

    Persona (PS1)

    GoldenEye (N64)

    Super Mario 64 (N64)

I feel like that'd cover enough genres and eras to keep me distracted on the desert island.
  • I like this question.

    Super Mario Bros (NES)

    The Legend of Zelda (NES)

Gun.Smoke (NES) [My most played arcade game, maybe if it was one of the 20 games I could own I would finally get past the second level...]

    Tetris (NES)

    Ms. Pac-Man

    Sonic 2 (Genesis)

Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Genesis) [Come on, count it as one... pleaseeeee?]

    Earthbound (SNES)

    Pokemon Red (Gameboy)

    Final Fantasy VII (PS1)

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)

    Super Smash Brothers Melee (Gamecube)

    Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)

Call of Duty: Black Ops II (PS3)

    The Last Of Us (PS3/PS4)

    Monkey Island 2 (PC)

Star Wars Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight (PC)

    Diablo II (PC)

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (PC)

So explaining some of my picks... Melee is the first one that came to mind because Smash is my go to game whenever I have people over, with Melee being my personal favorite. The Zelda series is my favorite, so that needed a good representation. I chose a lot of classic and nostalgic titles, like SMB, Jedi Knight, and Sonic. Tetris, Ms. Pac-Man and Gun.Smoke all offer a high score based play style, giving those a pretty long shelf life. Black Ops II for my FPS game just because it's the one I've sunk the most hours into. Earthbound, FF7, and KOTOR (which I've actually never completed, so this one is kind of a wildcard for me) for RPGs.

EDIT: Damn it just saw Civ 5. I'd replace that with KOTOR. I could spend the rest of my life playing that game lol
    1. Legend of Zelda (NES)
    2. Super Mario 64
    3. Super Mario World
    4. Pokemon Crystal
    5. Super Smash Bros. (64)
    6. GoldeneEye 007
    7. Mario Kart Wii (such a hard choice among the series)
    8. Final Fantasy (NES)
    9. Oblivion (360)
    10. Cel Damage (GC)
    11. Halo 2 (mostly just for multiplayer)
    12. Super Mario Bros. 3
    13. Zombies Ate My Neighbors
    14. Batman: Arkham City (360)
    15. Star Fox 64
    16. Super Smash Bros. Melee
    17. Yoshi's Island
    18. Fallout 3 (360)
    19. New Super Mario Bros. Wii
    20. Gyruss (arcade)

Ugh, really hard to choose. So many of these are series that I love to death, where every entry is a frequent play. I tried to pick ones that have been big multiplayer experiences for me or just ones I've sunk a ton of time into over the years. For example, I don't know if I've ever had as much fun as I had playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii for the first time with three friends; we stayed up all night and beat the game. Such a great time.
  • In no particular order:
