  • I'm watching, was surprised it took this long for someone to make a thread. I was thinking of doing it myself.
  • I'm watching on my lunch (thanks, Nintendo!). Zelda Breath of the Wild looks great. Pokemon looks interesting but I've been very passive about that series since the Gold/Silver remakes
  • Really digging the studio ghibli style look for Zelda: Breath of the Wild

    Pokemon still looks like Pokemon
  • Ill buy zelda and an NX if they launch together day one. As long as the nx isnt some gimmicky crap.

But breath of the wild looks good.

Oh no, I really hope there aren't any voice acting. It would ruin one of the things that makes Zelda games unique.

From the rumors I heard, all the characters (expect for Link) will be voice acted in this game.

  • Good thing my old lady is an Amazon Prime member! Not only free shipping but 20% off too! I made damn sure to get my copy pre-ordered!!    In the famous words of the banker from Zelda Majora's Mask, you guys better get your copy pre-ordered now or they'll "all be gone before you know it!"

Agreed.  Just like how when Metroid Prime 2 came out, I honestly didn't/don't feel multi-player belongs on a Metroid game, and the effort/time put into the multiplayer would've been better spent on the real Metroid Prime 2 game.

  • Zelda looks great! I agree with it looking ghibli like. I really love the nature look of it, really does give hyrule life.

That said I don't have a system to play it on but I will eventually get to it

Pokemon looks good too! I wont be playing it but looks good!
  • Loving the lack of Fi. Game looks so amazing already. Looks like a stamina meter for climbing which could present some interesting challenges.
  • Looks like Zelda with have some sort of crafting elements, kind of like minecraft. At the very least link can cut down trees, build a fire, cook food. Pretty neat.
  • Wow, Zelda looks amazing!
  • Zelda looks awesome.

My first thought though: They're using Zelda as a test platform for a completely new IP.

So many elements that are new to this Zelda makes me think this. Complete open world with real world interactions (Climbing, Jumping, Scavenging) and something tells me there might be some sort of crafting in this game as well. I love how the enemies who were in a rest state around a campfire actually had to take time to collect their weapons and go into attack mode, that alone made me feel like this is the biggest Zelda ever.

Still, so easy to mess this up with all the new features. I have faith in Nintendo though.
  • Say you know how Link can at long last can jump? Is that anything like in MegaMan where he had to wait until MegaMan X5 before he could finally duck?  He could've gotten that in MegaMan 3 but apparently Santa Claus had a couple different ideas.  Like he could've made Rush (the dog not Rush Limbaugh) turn into some sort of badass machine gun or laser blaster or something but...

  • I really am going to have a hard time waiting until 2017 (or later) for this game.

Link can jump just fine in Zelda 2      (and in most of the series, assuming you have an item that lets you do it)

    Roc's Feather!
  • Can't say I was impressed.
  • This is interesting, according to this NeoGaf thread it sounds like Nintendo is going for a modern re-interpretation of the original LoZ: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1233595

"They just confirmed in an interview that the game will have no towns. They clarified that it's a Hyrule in ruins and they took direct inspiration from the world of the NES LOZ. They did confirm that there will be a handful of stray NPCs throughout the world but no towns or villages in the traditional sense. Also, they claimed that link will not have any kind of partner and will be exploring alone for the entire game."
  • The new Zelda game looks awesome! Can't wait to play it. My only gripe is that it seems to have an English language instead of a fantasy language, added to the fact that you're called "Link" by name. Minor nitpick though.
  • Zelda looks amazing! I can't wait to play it. I am in agreeance with everyone else, about the fact that there is voice acting. Zelda games shouldn't have it at all, there was nothing wrong with the fantasy language of the former games.

I have zero problem with it. I wish it had it for every modern day  installment.
  • This game needs to come out, like tomorrow would be pretty sweet.
  • Looks great. I'm lovin' the pacific northwest scenes in the trailer where Link is doing some lumberjacking. I'm glad Aonouma et al. seem to have added some major non-conventional elements to LoZ which rattles the most crusty of fans' expectations

I'm getting an impression that Nintendo has incorporated some of the gameplay mechanics/resources from Xenoblade X into this new Zelda game.

    Edit: Hmm

  • As has already been mentioned, there seems to be ample influence from the original NES title in this version. Personally, I'm all for it; the original had a sense of mystery and wanderlust that was lost in favor of simplicity in later titles. I'm looking forward to bombing every rock and setting every tree on fire to find those heart containers!
  • Did they mention anything about the nx?
  • No. They said they wouldnt though
  • Zelda looks pretty good IMO! The whole hang-gliding thing, jumping, magnet ability, and sledding down snow on a shield looked pretty awesome! They seem to have pulled certain elements from various past incarnations of the series to create one cohesive environment.
  • Zelda looks awesome. My girlfriend and I also cant wait to play Pokemon Sun and Moon.
  • Everything looks exactly the way I expected it to, and that's both a relief and a disappointment.

I've been watching off and on all day, no mention of NX.
