My avatar is actually Dr. Guildo from Tecmo World Wrestling, showing us how to perform the classic back squat.

Must be some kind of relative to Abobo.

  • I did have complaints about the Zelda II as a kid, because prefer top-down adventuring to side-scrolling action (and I thought the world map of Zelda II was stupid), but once you start playing you realize it is decent and actually quite enjoyable for what it is. I beat it a couple times as a kid and again a few years back, and I appreciated it much more as an adult. I still get a kick out of the old lady inviting you into her house so you can regain your strength...

Agree with you OP that it's not super difficult, but there are some tough parts (and you're not at Death Mountain, yet). Have fun with it!

For as much weight as he has on the bar,his quads aren't very defined. He might crumple like an accordian if he bends those knees.

His (pixel) definition and separation are lacking

Finally just beat this after a little over a month. I didn't use any extra lives, had to get to the final palace and beat it with just three lives.

It took me forever to beat the bird boss, I kept dying when it was one hit away from dying, and I couldn't use the Life spell since I ran out of magic with Shield/Jump and Thunder. When I finally beat it and lost to Dark Link, I was ready to rage quit, but decided to give it one more go. I was so surprised and relieved to see the Bird Boss actually stayed defeated, and the only thing that was in my way from beating the game was ducking in the corner and spamming my sword attack.

The game is definitely underrated, but it's still my least favorite Zelda easily. Glad I beat it without using cheats/save states though! Died 38 times total, 100% completed, only had to use guides/maps a couple times (basically for the end of the game, finding the hidden town, navigating the Great Palace)

    Congrats, man!

I never use extra lives either. I don't even bother picking them up toward the end. I definitely wait until the final section to get all the crystals going and max out my levels.

Thunderbird can be a bitch if you're not prepared. I've played so much that his pattern isn't nearly as bad, but I hear your frustration on the first time through! Congrats on completing this NES classic.
