Clone console question
I heard you can mod most of the NOAC systems to play the MMC5 games, but I also heard then you pretty much couldn't play any other games on them after the mod. I was wondering perhaps if you could mod a switch onto them fo MMC5 games then switch it over for the other games?

The Retron1 can be modded to play MMC5 games and support extra famicom audio channels. I have never heard of the later part about not being able to play non-MMC5 games. My friend performed the mod to his Retron1 and it works fine with CV3 and other games.
Nice contemplating doing the mod on either my retro entertainment system or one of my FC Twin's.
I've heard the Retro Duo can be modded pretty easily and it shouldn't cause any issues playing other games. For what it's worth, though, my Super Retro Trio could play Castlevania 3 right out of the box, if that's what you're worried about.
Nah I was mostly asking because I have a yobo fc-twin which I don't believe is pre-wired for the MMC5 like the retro duo/trio.

No, you're right in that. Do you like it otherwise? How does it run everything else?

Yeah seems to work just the same as retrobit's stuff just not wired for MMC5. I've read Ace from other forums actually preferred the FC twin to the retro duo. He claims it has better audio.

Huh, that's interesting, thank you! A friend of mine was thinking about selling his for cheap, and I was thinking about buying it just out of curiosity's sake.

Hell yeah, I'd go for it.
