Easiest way to play PAL games on NTSC ps2?

It seems the best way to go would be the magic swap disc, as modding the inside is not an option. Anyone have experience using it?

  • Can't you do this with FMCB?

Edit: I see that the only tools for FMCB to boot import originals require swapping like with a swap disc but you can always rip the original and boot backups using OPL (an HDD/USB loader) or ESR (a DVD-R loader). Still, the SwapMagic ELF file can be booted from FMCB so that SwapMagic is not needed at all. FMCB is MUCH preferred to SwapMagic. Seriously: SwapMagic is only useful for getting FMCB installed to your memory card and then never using SM again.   The beauty of FMCB is that once you have it you can copy it to as many memory cards as you want, so all you really need is a friend with FMCB!
  • For best results, a PAL capable TV helps. Some games you'll have to mess with an off-center picture when trying to force NTSC.

    This.

You really have 2 issues- first getting the PS2 to play your disc, and then getting your TV to display it properly.

I'm glad the new Carmageddon is releasing next week; I can finally give up my quest to play it on the PS1 (only came out in PAL regions).
