Hit and Run on PS2...spent a ton of hours on that trying to collect EVERYTHING. All the cars, costumes, secrets...all of it.
The cool thing too about it is if you pop it in during a holiday (like say Halloween) the main menu is decorated up for that holiday. I used to love playing it on Halloween for that and the last level of course lol.
I played all the newer Simpsons games, skateboarding, road rage and the Simpsons game one...but I loved Hit and Run.
I liked the Simpsons Game on the DS and that had a lot of cool bonus features like the virtual pet Homer. It was also impressive how much voice acting and animation that they were able to cram onto that ds cart.
To be honest, I enjoyed pretty much all the Simpsons games on the nes, they are all really good and come right underneath the arcade game and computer ports. They are all pretty original and fun. Pretty much all the gameboy games are also really good. But my least favorite are the snes/genesis ones and the newer games on modern consoles.
Just felt like uploading the my end screen pics I took of the Simpsons Arcade game on the original cabinet, when I beat it a while back.
These are my prized possessions. The arcade computer versions of the c64 on the left and dos on the right. They go for quite a lot these days, and are hard to find. Don't mean to brag or anything, just felt like sharing some pics of them!
Escape from Camp Deadly has a bad reputation, but I got some enjoyment out of it. It comes closer to "getting" the humor of the early Simpsons than the other home games I've played in the franchise.
Simpsons Arcade, though it's insanely long. I think MrMark, DemanufacturedMario, Beagle and I tried beating it a few years back, and we ended up getting tired of it lol.
For the home console: Bart vs. the Space Mutants - mainly for nostalgic purposes.
While I liked the Simpsons Arcade Game and it might be my favorite Simpsons game of those that I've played, I've got to be honest that I always preferred to play the TMNT, X-Men or Captain America and the Avengers arcade cabinets whenever possible.
Even though it had plenty of its own frustrations, I also spent quite a bit of time playing Bart's Nightmare back in the day. I even completed it with an "A-" grade at one point, though I highly doubt I could ever do that again.
I haven't played any of the Simpsons games past the SNES/GEN, so I can't speak to them. From the sound of it though, seems like I ought to check out Hit-and-Run.
