Are These Wii Games Any Good?

**This is not a "For Sale" thread**

I recently traded in a large portion of my collection. It felt really good, and I'd like to keep going. My Wii collection is a good place to start, I've aquired many games based on price alone and would like to whittle things down.

I'm interested in keeping anything worth playing, or anything considered hard to find. This is what I have that I'm on the fence about:

Destroy All Humans Big Willy Unleashed

Fishing Master World Tour

Counter Force

Monster 4x4 World Circuit (my copy is sealed)

Sega Superstar Tennis

We Love Golf

The Conduit

SSX Blur

Blazing Angels Squadron of WWII

NFS Pro Street

Army Men Soliders of Misfortune

Comments

  • Haven't played any of them. But SSX and Destroy all Humans were both great series on ps2/Xbox. Didn't even know there was a Destroy all Humans on Wii

I bought it because I have the maturity of a 14 year old and thought the title was funny, haha.

haha I hear yeah. If you haven't played the ones on ps2 or Xbox I'd highly recommend them. I don't remember which one but there was a gun that makes people shit their pants

haha That's awesome! I bought the first one for the xBox. I don't know if I have the second one or not.
  • Counter Force is an okay rail shooter type game.
  • Destroy All Humans is the only one I have experience with. I love the first two entries in the series and while Big Willy Unleashed does have some isolated bits of the series' charm, it also has more than its share of problems. I think it's worth a playthrough if you like the idea of the series overall but it's certainly not a great game on its own. Very mediocre.
  • There's nothing rare or hard to find in your list. I've experienced Fishing Master and I enjoyed it. I own most of the other titles but haven't had a chance to play them yet. For the money you're going to get in a trade-in, I suggest you keep them if space is not an issue.
  • You should pop them in for a bit and let us know if they're good
  • I've only played SSX Blur which I thought was pretty bad to be honest and it's worth almost nothing right now. I've good things about the Conduit but haven't played it myself.
  • There is nothing in that list you couldn't get back for cheap if the mood strikes you to play them in the future. I say dump them all.
  • Now that I think about it, if you decide to get rid of these games for any reason, I'd be interested in Destroy All Humans. I'm going to be doing a retrospective review of the series later this year and was going to need to reacquire Big Willy anyway to capture footage.
  • The conduit is a very good fps that is a wii exclusive (so is the sequel). Army men sucks balls to the walls in the worst way. Its not the same as the ps1 series either.
  • sega superstars tennis, I would definitely dump that one.
  • No they're all shit.

What I do is pop in game after game and just see if it gives me any reason to keep playing after the first couple minutes. It's a good way to burn a Wednesday evening for sure
  • I've heard Conduit's good. NFS sounds promising because it's NFS, but I'm not sure.

None are hard to find though.

That's the only game on the list I have experience with. It's actually not "bad," and looks really good for a Wii title. The problem is you are locked in to using the Wiimote, it's certainly not worth it considering it's offered on other systems.

I paid $2.69 for it at Gamestop. I guess I'd be open to trading it, if it's worth the hassle for you.

That's what I figured. None of them seemed particularly rare, but you never know on the Wii.

I think the Wii is still too young to really see big collector values on anything. Of course I'm sure there are rare Wii games, but none I know of are really "big time" hits, even Xenoblade went down in price a lot. Now is the time to collect Wii, if anyone intends to do so.

I agree. It's even tougher considering how many previously thought-to-be-rare games got reprinted.

With all the shovelware, there is bound to be something out there tough to find, but even still, it's shovelware.

Yeah you can't really know which ones will be rare and expensive a few years from now. Best bet is just to get what you like and not what you think will become rare. I mean, what was it, last year? Fishing Resort was a bargain bin title, dirt cheap, probably like $10 a pop, someone pointed out what a hidden it was, and it shot up to like $70-80. Anything can happen at all time, really.

    NFS Pro Street

    Army Men Soliders of Misfortune

Honestly none of the games are worth keeping, and they're also not worth anything to sell/trade. Those games are to fill shelf space and that's about it.

Well, I'd rather have the shelf space for games that I do want, hence the trade.

I hear ya, just kinda sucky to be in that position where you almost certainly won't get back what you paid when getting rid of something. I've had to do that more times than I care to admit lol.

Yeah... Live and learn. These certainly weren't an investment so I'm not all too eager to get my cash back on them.

Even still, a little trade credit at the local retro store might help get me a game I really want.
