  • I'm no Transformers expert, but War for Cybertron seems to have lots of ties to the original cartoon movie, so I'd say that

    Also, Timecop is hilarious

  • Game based on a movie? GoldenEye 007 on N64.

Movie based on a game? Mortal Kombat.

Never played the Nes version but the C64 one's a classic must own.
  • Te Famicom version is quite good. Clearly broken in some ways, but fun nonetheless. I always forget that a C64 game is out there.
  • Of those that I've played (and that I can remember), here's a list of my personal favorites (trying not to go overboard with the Star Wars games):

    Alien vs. Predator [1999]

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay

    Ghostbusters: The Video Game [2009]

    Gremlins 2: The New Batch

    Lego Jurassic World

    Spider-Man 2 [2004]

    Super Return of the Jedi
  • Off the top of my head I'll say die-hard arcade

Also does journey to silius count? It was supposed to be terminator
  • Uh.. I like Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Atari. Atleast I think it's Atari.

Loosely. I don't recall the scene where Batman straight up tosses the Joker off the tower, but you know, creative license.

  • Die Hard Trilogy for the PS1 was pretty good, at least back in its day. I'm not sure it's aged to well, but it's worth having in your collection.

Batman is at least loosely based on the movie. Look at the cut scenes.

That's also my answer, I think.

  • I am yet to play a video game based off of a movie that I can honestly say i like but Jaws on the NES is the most tolerable, that comes to mind...

That game ate a lot of my quarters.

Isn't it titled as "Batman: The Movie: The Video Game"?

It's at least as "based on" the 1989 Batman movie as any video game of that era was based on a movie it claimed to be related to.

Gremlins 2 is at least as good a showing, though, IMO.

I thought it was just Batman: the Video Game

It is, but it has the Jack Nicholson Joker in the cut scenes, the turbine-powered Batmobile, the Axis chemical plant, the cathedral, and Joker's absurdly long gun. Might not match up perfectly with the movie, and it throws some of the comic book villains in as enemies (Killer Moth, Deadshot), but it does a servicable job.

I mean, I don't remember zombies in the Friday the 13th movies.

fair enough  if games followed movies exactly they may not be as good. Alright my vote goes to Batman
  • Friday the 13th of course   oh and one of my all time favorites Evil Dead: Fistful of Boomstick on the PS2, neither are considered good games I guess I just have bad taste haha

While I personally don't care for Friday, I don't think it's necessarily a bad game. It has a surprisingly deep gameplay progession to it.

Can't really abide by Jaws, though. Too tedious for me.

  • True Lies for SNES
  • Super Star Wars or Moonwalker.

Damn man me too.  One of my favorites!  I bought a copy for saturn a while ago, I wonder what its worth now?

Edit: Damn 70$ CIB?  Nice I think I paid 15 or so.
  • Alien 3 on Genesis comes to mind, and of course NES Godzilla and seem like I enjoyed Karate Kid as well. Most if not all the LEGO games StarWars etc.

Still think Highlander would had been awesome had it actually came to pass.
  • My favorite is called Pixelsmash Thread Making Madness where you try to create as many threads as possible. It's pretty darn fun!
  • Street Fighter 2: The movie

It is pretty terrible and a clusterf**k, but I can't help but love it on all it's badness.

It is so bad it is good, like the film.

Or maybe it is just my love for Raul Julia chewing the scenario like there was no tomorrow (which was sadly true for him) on the film speaking.

is Alien 3 the same on SNES and Genesis? I quite like the SNES one actually
  • Gotta say Wreck It Ralph covered a lot of them in 1 movie.
  • Tron Deadly Discs.jpg

This game is just plain great.  Could be my all time favorite depending on when you ask me.  It was in production at the same time as the movie, so technically it's based on pieces of the movie storyboards and stills rather than the completed movie.
