  • ^I used to love playing Tron Deadly Discs as a kid. Such a fun game.

Other I really enjoy include True Lies and the Super Star Wars games on the SNES and Goldeneye on the N64. I also have a soft spot for Nightmare on Elm Street on the NES even though it's based off the franchise and not one specific movie.

Somewhat. The SNES version is a little closer to the movie in terms of cut scenes. Both have a lot of the same basic weapons, aliens, rescuing prisoners, etc.

I think the Genesis version is closer to the NES version in terms of level design.

Considering the track record for everything Highlander since the original film...we're probably better off that it fell through.

Calling oneself a Highlander fan is a bill of insanity masked as a badge of masochism. But the original film was so good! Why, Elder Gods? Why do you forsake me with such terrible sequels and spin-offs?

I mean, the first film even tried to warn us: "There can be only one!"

...and it was right. There should have been only one.

Hard to argue there, as I agree the first highlander is he only one worthy. Still I'd like to had seen what could had been. Not like we've seen worse over the years.

Finally someone else who enjoys this game! I love it myself. (The PC Engine version is pretty cool too)

Die Hard and Goldeneye are the best off the top of my head.

Willow is a great game.  Probably in my top 25 for the system.

But the arcade game is better than the NES game.

(i.e. you actually get to play as Madmartigan during the tavern and cart chase scenes)

Never played the arcade version. But I was really impressed with the NES version, which I only played 4 or 5 years ago. It reminded me a lot of Secret of Mana, another game I love.

The arcade version was epic.  One of my all-time favorite arcade machines from that era.

It obviously took some liberties with the movie plot, but I felt it followed the scenes and concepts better than the NES game.

The sword mechanics of the NES game were really novel for the time.

But I found the castle-based dungeons to be pretty bland and featureless, which really made mapping a pain (sort of like Faria, in that regard)

I did love the game, though damn if that huge and convoluted password wasn't incredibly frustrating.

And one of the "nice things" about having a password-based RPG was that it was actually a quality rental title back then, since you could preserve your progress.

Felt like renting any other RPG back then involved restarting the game from the beginning every time you got it.
  • The thing for ps2, and a gundam game but for the life of me i can't recall which one or console
