  • That was part of my motivation for doing this. I got tired of seeing giant stacks of games and having to try and steathily check my phone to see if any of the soccer titles were rare. Now I just know off the top of my head.
  • Removed the word cartridge from the competition cart listings.  Didn't really make sense to have that there.

Got Prehistorik man for 20 bucks

Got GP-1 Part II for 7 bucks

    Relief Pitcher for 7 bucks

Super Troll Islands for 10 bucks

Sterling Sharpe End to End for 2 bucks

    Wolfchild for 10 bucks

and a few more cant remember off the top of my head.

I should of taken that Prehistorik Man instead of Troll , who knew we would find another Super Troll. Also I thought you paid more for that Relief Pitcher cart?

  • This thread has made me happy that I already picked up the "not so" commons in the "commons" rack. Now that they're more in the know, I wonder how that'll affect prices? Speculation indeed ...

The price changed to 25(assanine price) at that store but the dude let me have it for the 7 bucks it was still marked at.
  • Its funny, I've probably bought about 70 titles from the 3 for $20 shelf from my local reseller over the years. Mostly just common stuff. But that is where I got GP-1 Part II, Super Troll Islands, Wolfchild, and many other titles (including Imperium, Stone Protectors, Robotrek, etc.) And I remember passing on Power Piggs and Prehistorik Man back in the day. If only I had known what I know now!

lol It's definitely made me pay more attention to the "commons" rack. I passed on a Kawasaki with a messy label for $12 but have debated to go back at get it.

I did pick up Power Piggs for $7 and they had Cybernator at $6 for whatever reason.

now that I have the stack of carts around me I also picked up

jimmy houstons bass tournament for 5 bucks

    F1Roc for 6

    B.O.B. for 12

    jimmy connors for 10

    kyle petty for 6

michael jordan chaos in windy city for 6

    Mario fun with letters 10

    pinochio for 10

    baseball 2020 for 5

    Rocko's Modern Life for 12

    Operation Europe for 10

Tiny Toons Wacky Sports for 15

    Alien vs Predator for 20

    Hit the Ice 10

bunch of sports commons for  cheap

Some not killer deals or anything, but ones that are difficult to track down, and its always more fun to get them in person. Some are nice deals. My buddy up there got a B.O.B as well for 10. Had no clue that game was a 25 dollar game before I made my list. I knew it wasnt super common but man snes is taking off.

     good weekend.
  • That Kyle Petty racing cart eluded me for quite some time in the wild.

LOL I'm selling Rocko for $11 in my thread ;P

B.O.B. is a pretty sweet game too from what I recall, not too common it seems. I also dig Chaos in the Windy City too.

It's crazy how many titles I thought were common and now are considered uncommon. I used to pass on a lot of titles because I felt I wasn't getting a good deal. If I wasn't such a cheap bastard in the past I would have saved myself a lot of time and money.

BTW  I know this is late but thanks for fixing the database, also thanks to everyone else who helped.

The one I grabbed yesterday is in pretty good shape then. Doesn't seem like my cup of tea so far so it may be leaving my hands soon.

  • Prehistorik Man is one of those "sleepers" that I'm surprised hasn't reached the Incantation level of price. They're both Titus games, it's close to as rare and is as-good as Icantation is (IMO). I own Power Piggs but have never fired it up so cannot comment on that.

Tiny Toons Wacky Sports is one of those that I'd never seen in person until I bought it off Amazon last year, too. Kid Klown is another I've only seen in person one time.... and Relief Pitcher... the less I ramble about that one the better.

I'd be interested if you are getting rid of it.  I already have one but it's in shit condition and could use an upgrade.

    Check my FS thread
  • This is why I stay out of these threads entirely. Shameful.

Though I do applaud you guys putting in the work, these are some inevitable (though perhaps unintended) consequences that arise. Sometimes people forget that that rarity + demand (+ hype) = price. The rarest game in the world is worth nothing if no one wants it.
  • It is a double edged sword, when I got into the hobby I would use sites and do lots of research to find out what I wanted outside of what I knew. So having an accurate list is awesome.

On the other side you have sleepers that you have discovered and been on the search for see huge spikes as a result.
  • My point is that the rarity hasn't changed, people collecting the set already knew it was uncommon, just no one cared. Now a bunch of new people are speculating off the gospel in the thread and it may cause temporary fluctuations that will correct at some point. Sports games / board games / fishing games / etc. call all have a very low ceiling no matter how rare they are perceived to be. No one wants them other than full set collectors or speculators and when speculators are on to the next thing, demand goes right back to where it was.
  • This double-edged sword is dangling on me as I ponder whether to grab a non-SNES rare game such as Fritz Chess for the Wii (Disc, Case, Manual) for Under $60.
  • Yes but new people who are trying to get some tough games out of the way can use a list like this to reference, its the get it now while its cheap mentality that drives it up.. And of course resellers, but who likes those guys?
  • Just a shame that a discussion can have these consequences. I mean should we just never openly discuss rarity?

Wonder if the Kawasaki seller is an NA member..
  • Yeah I saw this pop up the other day... and I'm 100% positive the guy is a member on here, otherwise why the hell would he price it that high?
  • lol. It's just like Quest listing a loose Jimmy Houston cart for $50 or coffeewithmrsaturn with the $25 Latin version of Super Goal 2! (not USA) that just sold and he's trying to get $200 for

I guess Jone's point is proven.

  • Well someone was asking "Why aren't some people commenting" and for some it is time, and for others it's just because we'll know the hype will happen.

I could probably name at least 15, maybe 25+ games, across various platforms that someone could literally buy up most of the online stock and the price would definitely spike. Simply because they are much rarer than perceived... i.e. there are always copies available at stagnant buy it now prices. You make those buy it nows disappear and all the sudden everyone panics and the game is now perceived as rare.

I don't fault people for trying to make a buck, but when you price egregiously high on an item that you never cared about before because of an NA thread, it is going to rub a lot of people the wrong way.
  • Lets not make assumptions

I listed jimmy houston for 50 because i was about to reapply my sale to all listings of 25 percent off. So itll actually be 30 something. There werent sny on ebay. This wasnt some buy up ebay copy situation. That game is actually uncommon.

I found the jimmy houston in the wild 2 weeks ago 4 hours out of town. So give me a fuggin break. Im not about to orice it for 10-20 and have it sell immediately. Just testing the waters on the title, so calm your tits. The only titles i bought online because of this thread were for myself.

So maybe it should have been done as a private topic then and not even mentioned any of the numbers changed? I think there were only 6 or 7 people who made new rarity lists anyway. lol

I knew from the beginning there would be people posting comments just to hype games they wanted to see manipulated and trying to get other sheep to do the work of buying up all of games for them
