Rocket League

So, I've pretty much been playing the shit out of Rocket League for the past several months, and see no end in sight. I got in while it was free with PS+, but didn't play it until months later when a few friends really nagged me to try it out with them, and boy am I glad I did. The game has that special "it" factor, like Mario Kart, Smash Bros or Goldeneye, that few multiplayer games seem to capture. It's just fast-paced and arcade-like enough to make every moment exciting, and just non-sports-y enough to appeal to gamers who don't typically play "sports" games. The devs know they're onto something and they're constantly adding new content, modes and tracks to the game.

Anyways, it's still hard sometimes to get a decent match going (3 players or more is best), and I'd love to play some Rocket League with fellow NA'ers. So who else plays it? If anyone's on PSN, my SN is Gravity_Blast, let's get an all-NA game going!

    Ive been playing but Im not the best at the control. Its a lot more difficult than I imagined.

    My son plays it all the time with his friends.. I tried it for the 1st time today, it was pretty fun, just have to get used to the controls.

    For those iffy on the controls, have you tried changing the camera view? There are two views: "focused in front of you all the time", and "focused on the ball" view. You'll REALLY want to be focused on the ball, and I believe that's not the default setting, you have to tap triangle to change views. Focused in front of you is nice for the sense of control, but you have to hunt for the ball sometimes after a scrum, and that costs precious moments of reorientation. Trust me play with the camera focus on the ball and your control woes will be over.

    This games really great, a friend of mine gave me a steam key for it and I've played it a lot since. Probably the best part is that you can play with people on Playstation and PC at the same time, so you don't have to pay more if you want to play with friends on your other console.

    Yep on PS4. It's pretty damn addicting. I agree, once I changed to ball cam my game got better.

    I really enjoy Rocket League. When I first heard about it I wasn't really that interested - but after playing for a bit I got hooked rather quickly. I have it on both PC and PS4 and it is a ton of fun. I play it with my nephew (who is 9) and we both enjoy it, so it's great to find a game that we can both play and appreciate.

    I played all weekend when it was free on Xbox One a few weekends ago. I'd already played a little at a friends house. I was instantly nasty on my own and MVP of most games. I just feel like I have a knack for this game and love all the modes. I always liked the Soccer game in Excitebike 64 and thought there was much to expand on with that concept.

    Been playing the shit out of this game for some months now on Xbox One. Is the cross compatibility just between Xbox and PC or PSN as well?



    Wolfman8888 if anyone wants to add and play. Pretty much only play ranked doubles with randos. Was about 3-4 wins away from hitting superstar rank 2 weeks ago right after rankings reset, but have dropped since. Figure if I get a couple steady partners it is achievable. Tough to keep good record at higher ranks when everyone has a very different style of gameplay.



    Ball view and aerials are the 2 biggest things to learn. Lots more fun once you get those in order.

    I use the ball view but I just seem to simply miss hitting the ball. No idea why. Aerials I suck at.

    Played it on PC with some friends a while back for a weekend. It was quite a bit of fun. Haven't played it since, though.
