Isolated Warrior is exhausting me too. But man, I _so_ want to beat the game by Sunday night because I've already come so close. But if I can't then I can't.
I hope you can. I'm definitely rooting for you.
I may just take next week off. Rollergames is that bad. It makes me sad that Konami/Ultra had anything to do with it.

It does have nice music though.
I am also rooting for you, mbd. I believe you can beat this game and secure a top 3 this week.
As for Rollergames, I have never played it. I will give it a shot, but if it is too boring and it ends up seeing that I won't be able to pull a decent score, I will just pass as well.
I won't have much free time next week to try to learn it's kinks, and if it has too many, well, too bad.

I wouldn't say that Rollergames is boring. But it's kind of clunky and is full of frustrating jumps, cheap hits and you have to start back at the beginning of a level when you die. It's probably your kind of game.
Also, on the last two stages, I'm just trying my best not to die, so I'm always jumping and evading rather than focusing on killing stuff. So score suffers from that as well.

I can overlook lots of flaws. I'm a fan of Titus' SNES library. But if you require jumping, make the jump button jump. Don't put in a dead zone where the game can't register it because it's too early. Don't change the mechanics up for one level. And make your clipping on which sprites are pits 100% accurate
Ok, I see now. You can't press back and jump on certain levels. Brilliant game design.
Yeah. Pressing back and the A button on stage 4 makes you do a wheelie instead of jumping. The wheelie can be used to crush enemies but I think that it's useless. That idea could have been scrapped.
Man, I wish I hadn't waited till tonight to start playing this game, especially after flaking on Wrecking Crew. I like this one, but I doubt I'll be able to do any more attempts before tomorrow night. Didn't lose any lives until the Scene 3 boss, which I bashed on forever and he won the war of attrition, and then my powered down state succumbed trying the level again; I should read through the thread for tips on that sucka. Anyway, ye olde participation for me, at least.
Still trying to beat the game with a high enough score. I've beaten it three times already, but I haven't been good enough at stages 6 and 7 to get those super high boss bonuses.

The stage 3 boss is basically the devil and he's welcoming you to hell. It's just very difficult to avoid his attacks and he takes a bazillion hits to kill even when you're fully powered. Sometimes I can beat him without taking a hit and other times he destroys me. You just have to keep moving and concentrate on dodging his stuff. As soon as the battle begins, unleash a level 5 bomb on him and try to keep bombing him.
I did a test run on emulator yesterday and got over 600,000 in Stage 4. I haven't played this one past the first level before.
Ya, I'm pretty sure this week is going to come down to highest score for the win.
....and it's gonna be close.
I've never played this one, but it sounds interesting. Maybe I need to pull a Brett Favre comeback again.
By all means, do this! You'll beat me at least!
I've been helping a friend move all week so it doesn't look like I'll get a chance to post anything. Pinball is coming up, so I might have to make a guest appearance then.
Sounds good bearcat. You wouldn't have had a chance this week anyway

I've never played Isolated Warrior before and shooters were never my strongest genre, so I probably would've needed to put some serious time in just to get a top 5 score.
Not sure I'll beat this score. And I take back my comments on this game. I checked out the rest of the this year's lineup and this thing is a gem compared to some of the tripe we're about to play.

Keep trying!
Hooray! You can do it and score near 2 million points or more!
Keep trying!
It really f!cks you over in terms of score if you don't get those boss bonuses. And it's tough to get them on the last two stages.

Sounds like the greatest game ever made!

Fuck it, I don't care. I don't actually have a good score, because I'm not playing this, because the unresponsive controls kill it.
Whew. I might make top three after all.
EDIT: Actually, top three is probably out of the question because of bert, skinny and that other guy.
Back to Ultima and Harvest Moon

For now, I am off for Suicide Squad, which will probably mean I will be busy all night long.
Nice score. I will try to best it tomorrow.

I'm definitely done with it. Hell I may be done for a while, maybe the rest of the year. Depends on how many fantasy football leagues I play in.
I may have a few spots in my home league if anyone wants to get their asses kicke.....I mean play
Actually, I'm changing my angle. Skinny should know
What you know about that tecmo nba?

Placeholder score in case I can't play tomorrow.
I was the sole shooter guru.
I could have easily let the wannabes remain ignorant.
But I realized the most important thing for me to do was to teach them.
I defeat the wannabes regularly and try to make them better.
I've come across some very lame people.
These wannabe's failures will remain a huanting memory.
