Not sure I'll beat this score. And I take back my comments on this game. I checked out the rest of the this year's lineup and this thing is a gem compared to some of the tripe we're about to play.
I know I'm getting fourth, and already packed up the game since I don't want to play it any more. The question is, who is #1? Bert, skinny, or erizisto?
Last night I made some more attempts to better my score and while fighting the sixth boss I fell off the platform thus killing my run. That's it. I've had enough of this game. I'll settle for fifth or sixth place.
I did a test run on emulator yesterday and got over 600,000 in Stage 4. I haven't played this one past the first level before.
Ya, I'm pretty sure this week is going to come down to highest score for the win.
....and it's gonna be close.
I've never played this one, but it sounds interesting. Maybe I need to pull a Brett Favre comeback again.

I had years of training in Ghosts 'n Goblins, and it is a much slower paced game, just like Paperboy is.
The fight with the last boss requires some precise jumping while avoiding his shots, so I am not sure I can learn and beat him without dying at least once in the timespan we have left.
Well, I think erizisto is done (very nice score, good to see you back), and skinny ain't got nothin', so yeah, my money is on bert too.

I got the full post-level bonus on almost every level. The only ones I missed were level 1, where I had 17/24 weapon (are there even enough powerups to get this full in this level?), and level 7, where I got a little sloppy on the boss and lost 3 life.

Isolated Warrior is much easier than something like 1943 but still way harder than Legendary Wings.
Update: I made one last attempt and came within a hair of Brock's score. Oh well. If I hadn't choked and died once on the final boss I would have had over 190k. I did so well up to that point. I can't believe this score will only get me 6th place. The competition has been insane.
Which is why I expect skinny and bert to both clear 2,200,000 because they're better at shooters than me and have probably been grinding score for days now

I won't dispute that playing Legendary Wings for a very low score is difficult and I know that I can't do it, but so is playing for very high score in Isolated Warrior. Maybe low score LW is a bit tougher. I dunno.

My first assignment after I joined NA was to play against theese wannabes.
I was the sole shooter guru.
I could have easily let the wannabes remain ignorant.
But I realized the most important thing for me to do was to teach them.
I defeat the wannabes regularly and try to make them better.
I've come across some very lame people.
These wannabe's failures will remain a huanting memory.

After I posted, I remembered people mentioning some bonus areas. Is that what you're referring to?
If so, I never found them, so oh well.
Managed to kill the final boss, but he killed me once, which screwed up my chances to break the 2 million mark.
I suck.

In fact I agree with Bert, this game is easy. I think I got the final boss on the first and only try I had.

You beat the game and you only played it four times? That's impressive.
First try made it to the level 3 boss
Second, third tries I died to the level 4 boss
Fourth try I died on level 6
Fifth try I beat it, can't recall if I died 0 or 1 times on level 7

1 - 1943
2 - Gyruss
3 - Isolated Warrior
4 - Legendary Wings
