Looking to rebuild & collect

Hello, my name is Michaelis. I joined this site mostly to make use of the collection tracking tools. For various reasons I don't want to go into, I lost most of my childhood collection of games-- for NES I was only able to retain my copy of Princess Tomato, everything else was gone. I'm trying to rebuild the collection of games I loved as a child, and pick up others I never got to own. In addiction to licensed games I collect famiclone and dendy carts. I'm also very interested in homebrew and new indie NES games. I've worked in game industry before and have pondered making an NES game on my free time.

I'm unsure if I'll be that active on the forums, but I wanted to make a post anyway.

I also collect doujinshi (my main collection), figures, and visual novels. I'm particularly fond of VN's by N+C.

Nice to meet you all!

(PS-- I'm probably missing something terribly obvious, but how does one make a blog post here? I wanted to make one to list my famiclone collection and couldn't figure it out. Thanks!)

  • Hello and welcome! Best of luck rebuilding and furthering your collection. I definitely recommend checking out the indie NES games out and about at the moment. Lots of exciting stuff coming out too. Take a look at the Nerdy Nights tutorials in "The Brewery" section to jump right into learning the very basics of developing your own game.

No probs if you don't post very often. We're still happy to have you on board!

We don't do blogs per se, but if you wanna list or show pics of what you got, you'll want to check out the "Collector's Corner" section. You can just create a thread with the purpose of showing off your collection. I'm sure people would be interested to see it.

    Take care!
  • Excellent, thank you for the information!!

I've actually read through Nerdy Nights a few times-- it's actually how I found this place in the first place, oddly enough. It's a really good read!
  • Welcome to NA!

    Good luck rebuilding!

Of all the carts to have hung onto that's an awesome one!
  • Welcome to NA! And good luck rebuilding your collection!
  • I can relate to your story--I also joined in hopes of rebuilding my collection after losing almost every game I owned during my childhood. It ended up working out very well

You're definitely in the right place, good luck to you!
