  • I haven't heard of something like that before on a controller box, although I think somebody on DP posted about a Zelda game a few weeks back that also had such a sticker on the box. I'd also be interested in seeing a pic of it! image

    Anyone have ANY More INFO????
  • Nintendo was all the time coming up with different ways and promotions...plus stores were doing it too.  If I had to guess...and I'd say it's a very educated one...this thing was at Toys R Us and they had a special that if you bought a Nintendo it came with a free Advantage (thus the one you have).

It could also be a prize someone won via a contest...When I used to work at TRU we did do bundles, but we usually put them together ourselves so there were no special stickers.  The only thing we wound up doing sometimes was to put a white sticker over the UPC code of the item.  I'm not saying you're wrong, and I did work they long after the NES era so things most certainly could have been done differently back then.
  • yea hmmm, thanks for the info guys. either way was a pretty cool little surprise when i got it.
  • Cool find Mark, the best thing is the picture shows a great looking box overall anyways so the sticker is bonus!
  • yep thats what i thought too, i was like sweet! always cool to find little surprises like that when getting in a new box of goodies. Oh and for you variant collectors would this be a variant lol?
  • Very cool. I have never seen a sticker like that at all. The closest one like that I have seen is the SMB3 Challenge Set sticker.

  • The pictures on NES stuff are classic!  Who plays NES with their arm on someone's shoulder!?  What a ccouple of dorks.

  • that is really funny..
  • lol yep, see that picture and it just takes ya back lol. Even though i never had my hand on another kids shoulders while playing. But still the look on their faces remind me of a young me lol.

If you had that look on your face when you were younger, your a dork too!  LOL!
  • lol yea i prolly did. I was about the same age when the NES was big. i was born in 86, and being like 6 years old im sure i was dorky little hyperactive kid when it came to nintendo. lol.
  • I'm going to stick with my first answer.
