Hello, just joined from Massachusetts
Been a sometimes lurker of this awesome forum for a while. Finally decided to join up and take part in the community.
Little bit about me: I'm in my late 30's from MA and view the NES as the retro console I connect with the most due to my age. First got the NES in 1985 and I played a lot of NES/SNES in the 80's and 90's, then eventually put it into storage when I started getting heavy into PC gaming around '95 - '96. But due to PC gaming being a bit lack luster for me lately I have been feeling the urge to get back into the old NES games and maybe try to pick up some of the games I had as a kid but lost, or some that friends had that I always wanted, or just games I never got around to playing.
When I set the old NES back up of course the 72 pin connector was all worn out so I replaced that, and got a 3.8mm security bit to open and clean all the old games with Brasso metal polish and now it works like new. Really having a blast playing old favorites like Mike Tyson's Punchout and the Contra games. The memories come rushing back, and I can share them with my 7 year old son now and relive them through him which makes it even more amazing.
Currently I've only got about 40 NES games that I managed to hold onto (mostly loose) and I want to expand the collection to maybe about 50 or 60. If I decide to continue collecting past that is yet to be seen but I don't think it will be an everyday obsession type hobby. I simply want to get a hold of the rest of the games that I have a personal connection to my childhood with. Perhaps I will eventually buy some of them through this forum??
I also have 4 CIB games. Zelda 2 Classic Series, Dr Mario, Dragon Warrior 1, and Deja Vu. I might sell those off and just re-buy the loose carts and use the rest of the profits to buy more games. I've got Zelda 2 up on Ebay at the moment. If that goes well I'll probbaly do the others.
Anyways hello everyone, see you around.

GoldeneyeGamer do you know of any good flea markets in MA that regularly have vendors selling NES games? I am tempted to get out there and see if I can snag some good deals on the games I'm looking for, but need to figure out where to go first. There are some retro games stores near me that I recently checked out but their prices have been shooting up lately and I can do just as good on Ebay even with shipping costs.
Or better yet, does NA have a good resource thread for flea markets? I know I saw one for stores, but that's not what I need right now.
Thinking about hitting up the Revere Flea Market this weekend since its relatively close to me.
Thanks for the welcomes.

The flea market in Raynham has a few sellers who regularly resell video games, but about half of them only know/recommend the more expensive titles. There's one vendor there that'll charge average so you can sometimes get a decent deal, but other than that if you just want NES it's not worth it. Besides that I haven't been to to many. Flea markets in general are sadly filled with set resellers nowadays, but are still better than ebay sometimes due to a lack of shipping. Let me know how Revere goes, I've never been there but it'd be great to know whether it's worth it or not.

Thanks for the insight. I'm going to try to go by the Revere one this weekend. I'll report back here and let you know what I found.
This forum is rad, I need to decide on an avatar.
