In some of the wii discussion/find/hunting threads, a good number of the most knowledgeable wii guys out there say it's pretty rare. But whenever I go on eBay I always see a ntsc copy or two that sold for $30 or less, usually around $15-20. And not just buy it nows, but auctions too. Is it a rarer game that just doesn't command a decent price yet? Or am I reading the auctions wrong? I'm not a big eBay user, so that could be the case.

Two things on this. All because its rare doesn't mean its valuable. Likely people haven't caught onto the rarity of that game, thus keeping prices low or people dont care about the title and the limit supply is keeping up with the limited demand. Second, this game is fairly rare in the U.S., but just uncommon in Canada.

Thanks for the response. I thought it was something along those lines, but just thought I'd ask to get the viewpoint of some of the wiser wii collectors on here. Thanks!

Alot of those prices are wrong and are people incorrectly listing the "non-rare" 101-in-1 party megamix game so that what's dropping the price listings. The last copy of the actual rare title that sold at auction went for $140. If you notice almost every one that you see pop up is just using placeholder artwork so unless you're seeing an actual picture I would just assume it's the non-rare copy.

Neat. I've never bought or sold through eBay, so I thought there might be something with the listings I was missing. Thanks for that explanation.

Sakura Wars doesn't seem hard to find at all either (quick eBay search).

The rarest Wii game that I can think of is by far (correct me if I'm wrong) the Madden breast cancer variant that was only sold for a month.  I've seen maybe 5ish copies on the internet since it was first discussed here on NA.

Honestly, Dokapon doesn't seem rare at all after the reprint, and I don't know why disc-only copies sell for $100 easily (but I'm happy with it!).

I keep saying this about Madden Breast Cancer but it's so under the radar that people don't even seem to know it exists.

When people are discussing rare Wii games they are usually talking about rare titles not specific rare variants which is a far deeper rabbit hole. There are tons of Wii game variants that pretty much never pop up online or on ebay.
  • Here are a few that I've picked up that I think deserve to be mentioned for Wii that I don't believe have been mentioned yet.

    Castle of Shikigami III

    Veggy World

    Mr. Bean

    MiniCopter

    Target Terror

    Aqua Panic

    Speedzone

    City Builders

There are a lot of others that seem like there aren't many copies around but still seem to be fairly cheap.

Nice, I realised that I have City Builder. Didn't know it was hard to find. I'll keep an eye for other copies.

  • So I realize you guys aren't really talking about variants or special releases much but I was just wondering if anyone has seen this/anything like this and could give more info on its rarity. It's basically what it looks like, a case holding a (Scooby-Doo) Wii game (which is sealed) and a new DVD to go along with it. I found it hunting locally the other day but couldn't find any info online, picked it up anyway. Are there other "Watch + Play" releases for Wii?

And BTW, the outer DVD box has the Nintendo Seal of Quality on the back, so I don't think this is just some bootleg thing.

  • I'll mention Go Go Hypergrind on GameCube, only other GameCube title Atlus published.

Only found it for the first time since I started collecting a couple days ago and bought it.

Have you actually played Go Go Hypergrind? I've heard about it and was wondering if it's any good. It doesn't look too interesting from the images online, but I figured I'd ask because sometimes looks are deceiving.
