NES & SNES Rare vs Good

If I wanted to compile a list of rarest and most fun games where would I look? We all know rarity is speculative for the most part but which ones are truly rare and which ones are really good/fun? For example I have Little Samson and its the best of both rare & good but also have several blue cart bunch/color dreams that aren't.  Could some of you review the rarest games you personally own and let us know what's up?

  • I don't get too much into this stuff, but I will say that Aero Fighters for SNES is a great game (2 player, vertical shooter) while also a rare one.

Interestingly, my friends and I joke that its the most expensive 20 minutes of your life. Its a super short game, and it really isn't worth the price at all.

  • Snes:

Aero Fighters - 8 playable characters, 12 different endings. This game has tons of replayability.

    Ardy Lightfoot

    Nes:

    Wacky Races

    Sword Master

    The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

    Rockin' Kats

The Jungle Book - That it lacks the artistry of its Snes/Genesis counterparts goes without saying, but this remains a lively and entertaining platformer from the Nes's twilight years.

I've played some other rare Nes games that I thought were decent like Widget but I wouldn't put them in the same league as the others.
  • Any hidden gem video is a good place to start these days. Rare and good doesn't always mean super expensive, but that list has shortened as more time passes.
  • Honestly, none of the so called "heavy hitters" are worth the price of admission. I don't care how fun a game is, it never makes sense to pay big money for something that can be played for free.

These threads are never anything more than humble brag BS.

    Unfortunately yes.

  • I like Duck Tales 2 and Chip n Dale 2 a lot. They are not as good as their first titles but I felt they were worth the money. Granted they cost a lot less than something like Little Sampson, but still pricey.
  • Kind of a silly thread

Most rare (and by that I think you mean expensive) games reach that point because they're good. Exceptions being the extraordinarily rare stuff like SE or MBR/SR, unlicensed NES stuff, Bronkie, Hurricanes, etc.
  • I recently tried Wacky Races and it instantly became a favorite NES game for me.
  • Power blade 2 is awesome. Pro sport hockey, scat, and Bucky are all great. For SNES, chronotrigger and harvest moon are both great.
  • Ufouria is a great game.
