BEST Packaging You've Ever Received on a Game?
So unfortunately we had another person discussing how NOT to ship a collectible today...

But what about the BEST packaging jobs you've ever received? There's some people on the boards who may over package their items (nothing wrong with that), to the point where it can take forever to unwrap the item. Anyone have good examples?
For me, I bought a roughly $400 CIB on Ebay a month ago with "Free Shipping". I always message requesting a box with plenty of padding and generally it works out. That's all I expected here, and I received much more.
Not only did they upgrade to Express Mail Next Day (~$25), the seller also worked in steel machining for a living. So he specifically made a steel framed box to protect the game in shipping. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised and left him perfect feedback. He should have gotten a 6 out of 5 stars!

I bought a game from a Japanese seller on eBay and I received a small wooden box in the mail. When I opened the box, my game was inside .

Almost makes you want to send a thank you card!
Several times I've gotten game(s) inside a very oversized box.
Got a game from a Seller in England inside a wooden box.
NA member ThatSandersKid sent me a box with games and headphones, and he packaged it like a Tetris master with things perfectly wrapped and protected. i left feedback for the transaction that his packing skills were exquisite.
I bought stuff from that guy before, and he is an absolute shipping master. Everything is packaged perfectly.
I do remember earlier this year I had a nice sized PS2 lot come in the mail. I saw the box on my front porch and was saddened to see that it had been crushed on one side from being dropped. Not just "dinged" but someone had to like throw this off a roof to get the damage it had. Not only this, but it was also left on the edge of my porch which allowed it to get soaked from the rain all day.
I went ahead and did my usual ordeal by taking pictures of it and then opening it up expecting a return in the near future. However, the seller had like double bubble wrapped every single game individually (probably around 50 games total), the system, and all of the accessories. And then had packing peanuts every where else. Not a single item was damaged from the fall or rain. Couldn't believe it and repeatedly thanked the seller for doing such a fine job on it.
There was a member long ago who used to get a kick out of overpackaging the shit outta stuff. Anyone remember who? I think it took me ten minutes to get the game out of the packaging lol

Meanwhile, when I buy a SCD or Saturn game, the sellers can't be bothered to shove something in the case to prevent the disc from popping out.
Everything was packetized in bubble wrap and then packed in like cocaine bricks that you see in movies, then there was plenty of packing around all that too. Super impressed and not sure how it was even worth that much effort when almost everything there was worth so little (mostly components/parts).

He was sending a couple EEPROM adapter/EEPROMS and they arrived boxes and double-bagged with the outer one bein sealed air-tight.
I was so scared that it was going to be shipped half-assed and I'd get it with the card bent up.
Nope, the guy shipped it in a carboard box with a lot of packing material.
Can't say I've had any bad experiences with games, those are usually shipped well.

Wow that steel frame is awesome. The Star Keeper homebrew release stands out to me, was pleasantly surprised how nicely it was packaged.
I'll second this was up there for best packaging. I might still have the cardboard "halves". Pretty sure I could stand on them without crushing.
On top of that the box has internal die cut styrofoam to fit the game perfectly. No way that game was damaged getting shipped to anyone.
My Gun-Nac cart only came to me in a plastic case. Nice of them.
Putting the carts in sandwich bags was a nice touch.
Edit: Hmm, I guess I didn't know how to spell "cocoon" three years ago :S
Quite possibly the worst was pretty recent. I bought a PVM on eBay, and the person shipped it in box just barely bigger than the TV. Of course it was ruined by the time it arrived.
Best is tough to say. Though I always appreciate when the items are individually wrapped in bubble wrap, and then put in a padded box with 2-3" of room on any side. That's my rule of thumb - package it well enough to survive a fall from a two story window and then getting kicked down the street to your house.
