  • A house.

But seriously, I don't know that I have anything in the studio collection that I'd consider awe-inspiring. I wouldn't mind snagging a Banzai Run machine at some point.
  • I haven't posted this here yet. Last year I went on vacation about 5000 kilometres away to a small town and walked into a random electronics store that had their electronics on display in a PlayStation cabinet. I asked the owner if I could buy it, he told me a price and I went home to think about it. He said he had another upstairs exactly like it that I could take instead but since he said it was the same, I didn't bother going up to his storage area to look at it. The following day I flew back home and kept thinking about whether or not I wanted to buy the cabinet, thinking I could send my friend that lives there to pick it up with his trailer.

Over the next 2 weeks I leave this guy about 10 messages saying I wanted to buy it but could not get anyone at the store to pick up and nobody would return my calls so I just wrote it off as gone. Last month, a year later, I went on vacation back to the same area and decided to stop in and see if the cabinet was still there, which it was. I again asked the owner if he would sell it and he said he couldn't sell me that one as he was using it but there was an identical one upstairs he would sell me. I decided to go up and see what kind of shape this other one was in, assuming it wasn't fit to be in the showroom. To my breathtaking surprise, I turn the corner upstairs and see this beauty looking at me

Immediately I know I'm going to buy this, whatever it is he wants for it. We settle on a price of $250 and I pay him right away and arrange to come back the next day with my friend's trailer. I could hardly sleep that night knowing the next day would be cabinet pickup day. We got back to the store and loaded it up after taking everything apart and loading the glass separately.

Then I immediately had a lot of things to do but a couple of days later I had the joy of reassembly, It looks magnificent! And now I have finished my vacation and am plagued with the question of how I'm going to transport this thing 5000 kilometres to my home, I had to leave it with my friend. Some day I'll go back and visit it, it hasn't even had a game in it yet.

  • An Xbox...nah jk. I guess a single N64 kiosk arm? I thought maybe....maybe one day I'd own a WHOLE N64 kiosk but an arm? I never thought I'd just own the arm...the things you find at yard sales lol...

This is awesome. While this isn't my favorite one it's definitely up there and endlessly fun.

  • One of the two custom PS3's given away as prizes for the Sly cooper thieves in time treasure design contest, unfortunately the HDD in it needs to be formatted now as it's gone bad.

I am a huge fan of the Sly cooper series so this is pretty much top of the mountain for collecting for the series.
  • Man that is a sweet cabiet. I want one. Lol

So my top thing in my collection was the NWC, so i had been eyeballing it. Of course always out

Reach. As an active duty military man and family there was no way i can afford it!!

So i decided to start  buying and selimg, trading up and building a inventory of rare games for any system and eventually just nes and snes

Because thats whats easy to trade. Long story short i traded for half of the NWC value at that time, SE I bought in a bundle, and box was all trade. But never growing up, or in my adult life thought i would own both. Hard work pays off.

  • I never thought I would get so many complete game system sets: NES, 32x, Master System, N64, Turbografx 16, and Dreamcast.

The other things is all complete sets from Unlimited-Ice Age of Magic the Gathering. Always wanted complete sets when I was a teenager and the game was new.
  • Starwing competition. I never thought I would see one, let alone own one.
  • I always wanted a Dreamcast kiosk and earlier this year a buddy randomly had one for sale. It's nice when it falls in your lap like that
  • A lot of you guys are listing big or expensive stuff. But to be honest, as a kid I never thought I would own any Sega stuff. Growing up, we had Nintendo consoles, and while I was happy to have Nintendo, and believed (both then and now) that Nintendo was superior to Sega, I still loved Sega games and looked forward to the opportunity to play them (usually at friends house). But I never imagined that I would own them because there certainly wasn't enough money to buy multiple game consoles and my brother and I were actually pretty amazed that we had Nintendo consoles to begin with. Sega, as a console maker, was long gone by the time I started going back and picking up those older systems, but luckily I was able to get all of the systems and most of the games I wanted before the prices started getting stupid.
  • Nothing really. Nothing I own is really "impressive" or something I once thought unattainable.
  • I never thought I'd own a Vectrex, but one just happened to find me earlier this summer.
  • My WON fiber optic sign. It was a few years ago, but the listing sat on CL for like 12 hours before I picked it up. Today that guy would have gotten tons of other offers and I would have lost it.

I really love pinball. I actually have 10 machines, but I posted The Addams Family because it was my first and the machine that made me love pinball as a kid.

I actually acquired Maverick at the same time, but it's always given me trouble. I haven't gotten around to properly repairing it.

    My other machines:

Play Ball. It's a baseball themed electro mechanical.

Eros 1: astrological themed cocktail machine

    Black Rose

Baywatch. Underrated. Cheesey theme but fun.

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Hardbody. Hideous looking 80s machine I got for $150. If I wasn't on my phone I'd link pictures.

Popeye - This has a terrible reputation but I like it.

Terminator 2. This table has a really great flow.

Bram Stoker's Dracula - I really love the art package and sound. Also Mist Multiball is one of the coolest features in pinball.

Edit - lol turns out I own 11 and not 10

    This.

Although prior to joining this site I never thought I'd own 1 cartridge that would contain the full set of games plus more (Everdrives) and play on real hardware. I simply didn't know they even existed before joining here. Now I do and own 4 of them.

  • Twilight zone pinball, and 4 ft pikachu statue also minish cap adventure set, play choice countertop in mint condition, and last and probably my favorite Pokemon snap kiosk
  • Never thought i'd own a SNES super bright sign or have a Turbografx collection. Turbo has been a joy to collect for and something i still play regularly!

  • A 64DD console and some games, crazy.

Also Neo Geo stuff, namely AES, MVS and NGPC.
  • A lot of CIBs in general once the prices started going way up, especially the Mega Man series. Once I found 1,2,5, and 6 at once at a flea market ($360 CAD) I had to get the others. 6 or 7 years ago I didn't think I'd have near as many CIBs because they were still pretty hard to come by but they also fueled my interest in collecting.
  • A few of the homebrews that I've acquired I didn't think that I'd ever own, either due to rarity or price (the two rarest both gifts as well). Halfway to a deal on one more highly sought after one at present, but until it is in my hands, those chickens aren't getting counted before they're hatched.
  • I never thought I'd own a Panasonic FZ-1 3DO. Obviously they were way too expensive when they were new, and recently, it's been getting tougher (and more expensive) to find a working one. I went to a game store in the area that for some reason I had just never been to before, and lo and behold, couldn't believe my eyes, but they had one. Decent price, lower than eBay, but it also came with two games: Samurai Shodown and Alone in the Dark. Samurai Shodown was actually the game I wanted most on the system. I've never been satisfied with the console ports of Samurai Showdown, so the 3DO is worth it for the great port of that alone! Needless to say I bought the system, and I'm glad I did!
  • Always wanted an original sealed final fantasy for NES but never thought i would find a deal for it.

I did and now i got one

What, you think I play games I buy? Ha, that ruins their resale value!

  • The no name Quick Joy type Atari joystick with yellow buttons I had as a kid. Found it in a store by pure accident 20 years after.
