Just recently threw down for a PC Engine Duo-RX
Coming from owning a TurboGrafx16 since 2000 or so, I always thought HuCard games such as Bonk and both Crush pinball games more or less 'defined the system' (and maybe an Adventure Island game or two since a lot of the games I own have "Hudson Soft" on the title screen). My mind was blown a few years ago when I discovered a whole 'nother world of games out there that are above and beyond what was released in North America.
My recent pickups :
Duo-RX (component & RGB modded)
Multitap, MemoryBase 128
CV: Rondo of Blood (CIB)
Winds (Lords) of Thunder (CIB)
Stuff for Making Good Backups:
100pk Taiyo Yuden CDRs (Grade A)
Plextor Plexwriter CD burner (from 2001)
UPDATE 9/21/2016: Here she is boys!

Also HAHA @ Plextor, gah those bring back memories. Official CD writer of RIGG.
There's also an ISO floating around that's a hack of the 4 in one disk, using the loading code to load the bulk of the hucard games onto a cd-rom. So a poor mans flash card
That's awesome, didn't know about that hucard/cdrom hack. I do own an Everdrive v2.4 so that won't be necessary, but I think I'll need to try it out for the hell of it.
Three words: Mugen Senshi Valis. Fun game, awesome soundtrack. I even ripped the audio to put on my phone so I can listen on the go.
Hell yeah. Loves me some Valis.
Have you ever played Rondo before?
It's purdyyy.. Wouldn't mind upgrading my PC Duo to this.
Have you ever played Rondo before?
Yeah, but only on Wii VC and emulation (Mednafen) over the last few years. The pinnacle of classic-style Castlevania games in my opinion.
Oh man... I almost want to track one down for the express purpose of playing some great PC Engine shmups that I got a chance to play one of during Ian's old-school shoot-em-up panel at TooManyGames. And the proper Chi no Rondo. Obviously.
You should definitely consider. I've been pushing off getting one for several months and then one day my will crumbled and I thought "that's it, I need this console in my life, I just need to obey".

Very nice system I have been playing Download 2 on my PC Engine Duo. A pretty good game that I recommend if you are into shooters.
I was over a friends house this weekend and he has been collecting since all this stuff was new. He had a minty turbo duo in the box and I told him to turn it on and no sound. I told him to let me take it home to cap it. I got the system decapped and acid had already starting to eat at the board. It should be fine but anyone that has a Turbo Duo or PC Engine duo need to get this done. The Duo-R/RX don't seem to have this issue.
Enjoy your Duo it's a fun system to own. The RGB mod makes the picture looks amazing if you have a PVM or XRGB mini.

Yeah they're notorious for that it seems. My PC DUO was luckily recapped and had a new laser prior to being sold to me.

Thanks. I have played and like the original Download but haven't played the second one. Yikes, while I'm aware of the original Duos needing cap replacements, I didn't realize it was also a scourge. That really sucks.
I can't test the RGB unfortunately as I don't own a PVM/BVM or XRGB mini. I wish I could test the RGB out at least with what I already own. The Component output looks really clean on my Sony Trinitron CRT.
I'm expecting a PC Engine Duo (black version) in need of a good cap kit, should be lots of fun. I used to have a PCE Duo-R but a friend of mine wanted to get in on PCE so I helped him out. I still have my beloved white PC Engine, complete with Everdrive.
Dang, that was nice of you. I don't know if I could do it! It's amazing how small yet advanced the original white PC Engine is.
