It was a quaint but informative site I want to say lasted all the way until 2007 or so. It was how I learned about the censorship in the NES version of maniac mansion.
Different site actually. The Nes City I'm thinking of had that old school tripod/geocities look to it but the author was very creative and had caption this sections, weird bits of trivia and (for the time) lots of information about more obscure games before retro gaming became a thing. Around 2005ish the author started incorporating more right-wing political humor into the site for some reason and started getting into some uh, interesting conspiracy theories.
Really up to that point though it was a fantastic resource. I would put it right up there with nesworld and nesplayer.
Thanks! That's it alright. I forgot how much more polished it got near the end. Too bad the author became a born again and donated all his games to his local church
