finally reached my first "milestone" as a collector: complete NP set
After around 2 years of hunting down issues to complete the set, I have finally finished off my NP collection. I remember (around 2 years ago) buying a lot of 100 (or so) issues along with a few NP cardboard magazine racks, and one of the bix boxes that hold 5 of the racks from a seller off CL. I figure, hey why not begin collecting them as I already had ~1/3 of the set. I then began hunting down issues semi-frequently. Besides caving and using feebay to purchase the final ~20 issues I needed, all were found locally from CL and in the wild, and traded for/bought here on NA.
Some highlights of this collection include:
- all mags that have posters are still present (and attached); I cycled thru many of the same issues upgrading for posters/inserts being intact
- most of the inserts (stickers, trading cards, comics, merchandise paperwork, etc.) are still present (and attached). I'm pretty sure I have most (if not all) of the extra inserts present, but I haven't done a detailed checklist yet (but I'm sure I will do that someday)
- all are in good (or better) condition with clean spines. I cycled thru many of the same issues upgrading for condition, etc.
- most of the issues with variant covers are present (I am missing one of the GBA covers, and one of each Star Wars covers, but again... I have most of the variants)
- six issues from NMI (thanks to Dquiros)
- NP cardboard mag racks/ big boxes to hold the racks to house all of the mags
- extra issues including: 2x issue #1, 3x final issue (different versions), multiple copies of the same mag if I had one that said "final issue, renew subscription" and one that did not... I don't know why I kept both, but meh why not
Also pictured is my complete FCN set, as well as Samus defending the whole lot. I would like to thank all the NA members that helped me in my journey of completing this collection; there are too many of you guys to name, so just know I appreciate the help. Here are some pictures of everything. Also, I included a picture (last one) showing the stacks of doubles I have (conditions vary from poor with no posters/inserts to good/great with posters/inserts intact), as well as the NP mag racks I have left (clear one is reserved for Ferris if you still want it, and the rest have Magus's name on them) but everything else will be available to NA members once I organize what's all there and the conditions and whatnot (I had many more doubles than I thought I did, so it will take a bit to go thru them all).

It's beautiful! Congratulations man! Know it's been quite the journey!
I appreciate it, Acid. Thanks for the SS gift, again.
I can't wait to take some doubles off your hands to be able to make my own thread
I LOVE that Samus stand-up! Congrats, sir!
Congratulations.
That is sure no easy feat!
Personally I'd bag and board the entire set though for storing, keep them around longer that way.
I don't know how comfortable I'd be with leaving them on the floor though. Imagine if that place flooded! Game over.
I'm dying to see all the variations etc.
One thing I've managed to acquire as a sort of sub-set (in addition to my main set)is a set of the NP cards still in the mags. using the fewest issues. I have it down to 24 issues.
I also had/have so many of these that at one point (maybe 10 years ago)I was thinking of trying for a set with the Renewal page/Covers still on.
Beautiful!

Believe me, I just did that for the group photo. I have them elevated now, and am looking for a cool way to display them. I have been doing some heavy room cleaning so I finally have room to display some stuff.
Thanks for the kind words everybody! I'm very excited about this set.
I'd love to eventually finish my set as well. Unfortunately I cut out a lot of the posters/artwork from the ones I had as a kid
I store mine in 2-inch 3-ring binders: http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=85643
I'd HIGHLY recommend buying some high quality bags and boards at least for the newsletters, fun club and early issues to keep them protected and minty. Or if you're crazy like me, do them all!
I personally keep all my mags bagged/boarded which may be crazy to some as I have literally 100s of magazines, but I like knowing that they're safe from the majority of environmental factors.
