Does eBay still remove negative feedbacks if a buyer does not respond to an unpaid item dispute?

I have a buyer who just negged me and he will not respond to any of my messages wishing to clear up the problem. Basically, he claims he never got his game, even though Delivery Confirmation proves that it arrived 2 weeks ago. So i offered to send him another copy AND refund his money if he would remove the negative and he didn't even respond.

So i was wondering - does eBay still remove negative feedbacks if a buyer does not respond to an unpaid item dispute? If so, can i file an unpaid item strike against him to remove the negative? I know he already paid for the item, so please don't say anything like "Nick, that's against eBay policy" or "Nick, it's against eBay policy to file a false dispute" because i just want this neg gone because i feel as if it is not deserved.

PS: block eBay user ID thwn16

Thanks,

Nick

  • I believe if you file it and he doesnt respond it will be removed. Not sure if it would work considering he paid (most likely by Paypal) and EBAY could easily see that. But its EBAY so who knows.
  • I saw the neg you got and that sucks (love the dc number in it. Of course it is possible that a neighbor or someone else stole the package (not that I think it is likely, but possible) It is worth a shot I think he has 7 days to respond. I also bet it is all done by the system and no one will see it (so the neg will get removed). If he responds even once though they will not remove the neg.

    Good luck
  • There's a special process you can go through, once every quarter iirc, to get a single neg removed if they don't respond. They announced it over Xmas, I'm sure you can find the info, but I've not needed to use it yet so it's still a mystery to me.
  • Well, I will let you gentlemen know what happens with this. I filed an unpaid item dispute last night when I made this thread and so far he hasn't responded to it. Should be interesting to see what happens.

    Thanks for your help
