Super Mega Baseball

Last month this game appeared on Games to Gold on xbox live, so I snagged it, and I wasn't expecting such a fun game. Seriously.

Has anyone played this yet?

There's no licensed teams or known players (you can customize the look and names of the players, though), and as you win, you can level up and open up contracts to trainers, coaches, and gear to improve player stats.

Anyway, if you haven't played it, and you enjoy sports games, I think you'll like this game. It has a similar vibe to Dusty Diamonds Softball mixed with Baseball Stars. I believe it's also available on Steam and PSN as well.

D'oh! They're releasing a sequel next year, which I'm now looking forward to, especially if it has online play (it has local multiplayer). Honestly, this game is made extremely well for the studio only having 3 people.
  • I bought this a while back on PS4 and loved it. So much fun, and I love how you can raise the challenge to ridiculously tough levels. The sequel should be great.
  • Yeah, the game gets brutally hard on higher egos. I was crushing it on Ego 58, so I bumped it up to 59, and I either dominate, or get dominated. I'm at a .500 right now during a short season (using Sirloins), so I don't think I'll be making it to the playoffs yet   I'm level 51 at the moment as well, so I should be stuck here until I unlock a new contract or 3.
  • Best Baseball on Steam. I wish there were more sports games on there.
  • On the higher levels I found that working the count is important. Don't hack at everything, and by the later innings the pitcher will wear out and you can out up some runs. I want to say I got to 80 and had a chance when I played super well, but I could never go for that final trophy for beating it on 90, I think it was.
  • Yeah, I've noticed working the count is starting to get very important. I'm also trying to get used to moving the cursor and using the power swing more often (usually when I'm up a fair amount and can afford to have some scoreless innings).

Can't speak for the best baseball game on steam, but it's definitely one of the best ones I've played in a long time (on the consoles).
