Rad. You crammed this one, man. Good deal. I kind of regret getting so close to beating it without doing so (scrubbed out on the last stage in one of my runs). Next time! I doubt I'll get close to that score, though.
The game is fairly easy, but I haven't tried to play it on level 5, so no idea what my score under those conditions would be.
For that score I played on level one where a score over 800k isn't that hard to do because it's easy to rack up a bunch of perfects before getting combos, and the speed doesn't become insane.
Level five is much, much harder. I could probably get a little over 600k at the most.

You should try achieving a perfect game of 20 perfects playing on level one difficulty. Not even rdrunner could get more than 17 and I couldn't get more than 14.
I love this game. With more practice I could possibly get over 900k. That will probably be necessary to get gold in the next Palamedes contest with the competition here.
I beat the Palamedes tournament earlier this year. This was such a surprise, I loved it so much, I even wrote a blog about it. It received decent traction on Reddit, even. Such a good game!

I beat it the last time it came up during the weekly contests on level 1, but my score was only a little over 700K. Great job!
That score was done with 14 perfects and 1-2-3-4-5-6 combos the rest of the way. For me the challenge when it comes to getting perfects starts to kick in at around stage 13. I can frequently get 14 perfects, and I was only able to get 15 once (then I tried for 16 and lost). I think getting more than 14 almost requires some luck in having a beneficial dice layout as well as not making any mistakes.
Very nice score and congratulations! I also beat the game the week we played it in the tournament. Playing through the one-player game is easy, but facing off against the computer in the tournament is tough in the later rounds. You basically have to get as many 1-2-3-4-5-6 combos as possible to have any chance of beating them.

Even beat my score! I hope this is on the docket next year for obvious reasons for both our sakes
Haha, nice

It would be a very tight race for the top three if it comes up again. Richard and Krunch are also pretty good at this.

Sweet. Well done Mbd!

But that goes to the backlog. I have too much on my plate right now as it is. This is a bit more difficult than high school math.

But, Kobra will be better if this comes up again
Blah blah blah.... nice job mbd

Or you'll go for participation and take a bye week because you hate the game so much.

The NES has so many hidden treasures. I'd never even heard of this game before I started doing the weekly contests here at NA and now it's a favorite.
