Diablo 2 BNet ladder resets today 11/22

As always, I'm super pumped during ladder reset time. I usually out of habit play on the US East realm, but would totally consider switching to say US West if any of you guys are wanting to buddy up.

  • When I moved to Washington, I brought my install discs... but somehow didn't include the play disc. I played Diablo 2 all the time in high school. Some friends started playing together again in college once... but it's been a very long time since I played. I wouldn't mind but I don't want to get another copy.   I've been through so many already.

I saw the pack of it at Walmart for $20 today. I was actually surprised to see they still carry it.

  • Is it the Battlechest one or whatever? Diablo, 2, and then the expansion?

I believe so. I was not sure if Starcraft called them Battlechest and Diablo called it something else.
  • I think with Warcraft they call them Warchests. I've never heard of a term for Star Craft unless I'm just mixed up.

Ugh the struggle lol One of the best decisions I made was to register my CD Keys on my Bnet account so I no longer need the CDs and just download digital installers from Blizzard which install super fast and efficient.

  • I tried to start a thread awhile ago to get people to play D2 but it was a no-go.

If Pokemon didn't just come out I would play 100%
  • I've been getting into D3 as of late, but it's hard to get a copy of D2.
  • I just have to finish Starcraft campaigns (had some errors that was fixed with buying a digital copy), then I'm giving this a chance -

Nothing groundbreaking, but two small follower groups will combine into just a small community called MD2GA (Make Diablo 2 Great Again) atm.

I am not trying to thread jack here, but would you be interested in playing some SCBW games?

My time has passed for D2. I never did enjoy dueling much. It was mainly the cow level for me and rushing others building their characters. It was fun while it lasted.

  • I havent played D2 in a long time after they purged all my characters for not logging in. I lost 3 years of gear/characters on 2 accounts. Do they still delete inactive characters? I'd love to start playing again but not under those conditions
  • F'd up. Double post.

I S.U.C.K at Starcraft. Atm I'm just playing campaigns for the nostalgia, taking my time, up to hours per mission, just to absorb the atmosphere.

Diablo 2 is a much bigger favorite of mine, and I used to play 24/7, and I was pretty good PvP. It's been one of the first things I installed on new computers or after formatting since, and I've been looking over old Single Player builds and logging onto Battle.net just to play the story mode at least once a year (around this time of year).

After a years of hoping the game would catch up again, Blizzard fixing a digital client ridding the game of crashes and errors, and this Xtimus guy gathering some people - IT IS TIME.

I don't think I'd be much fun to play with in Starcraft. And as D2 ladder reset was two days ago, I have no time to lose if I'm onlyhalf way through Starcraft campaigns and I'm gonna enjoy a Single Player run of D2 before I hit BN as well. But it's heart-warming to see people still love and play these old classics, and I hope some of you join the second D2 wave. Even if MD2GA is a cheesy name.

Sadly Blizzard doesn't earn any cash on keeping D2 alive, and thus minimum resources are put to maintaining the service they now provide.

And yeah, people (me included) complain about the short ladder seasons, the stress of keeping accounts active and that bot infestation...

D2 is just a shell of what it used to be, but I have faith. If you want to keep your D2 work intact, simply mark your calendar, and be in-game for 3 hours every 4 months for good measure. I've tried my best to keep that routine since I stopped playing full-time, but your 1337 account name is really the only thing you might have any interest keeping. Every 6 months your ladder characters are moved to non ladder anyway. Unless you had bugged/hacked gear, which is awesome to own.
