Some members here have met me in person before when I ran GameTraders in Pasco County. I was there for 4 years and always wanted to have my own store. I am no longer affiliated with GameTraders and left the company on good terms. I partnered with some really good friends of mine and have been working on this non stop for the last month. I am excited to bring a store to Spring Hill since there is only a Gamestop out here. We got a great location across from a middle school and plan to be really active in the gaming community here. I hope if any of you are in the area some time, you can come by and check us out! Our first day is going to be this Saturday and I can not wait to see how many people show up. Not sure when we will do a Grand Opening event yet.

  • Damn that looks amazing man! Good luck!
  • living the dream
  • Good luck with everything man, takes a lot of balls to do something like that.
  • love the setup. good luck dude
  • Looks good, good luck!
  • Fantastic!!! From what I've heard, Florida is in need of more game stores. Good luck!
  • Great looking store!
  • Finally a game store in Spring Hill
  • Congrats and good luck! We need more pics!
  • Looks great! Wanna stock up on some homebrews?
  • awesome - best of luck!
  • Nice setup! I truly wish you the best. I'll stop in and buy some stuff if I ever find myself your way.
  • Looks great, good luck.

Prime location being near a middle school. You should host events on Friday afternoons.
  • Awesome! Good luck!
  • Thanks for all the kind words and support guys!! I was always scared to go for it but I am all in now. I really want to try and do events and stuff and love the idea of Friday nights. The only problem is 1200 sq ft is challenging but I think we can probably get something working. I thought about Homebrews and like the idea of them. They are very popular and I am sure tons of people locally would be into them here.
  • looks good dude, good luck!!
  • I thought of this since your store is brand new, so no other NA stores get jealous now, but maybe you can do an NA scrapbook where NA members who visit can sign and drop a comment.

That is a pretty cool idea! I may just have to do this.

  • Good luck... you should remove a few ps2 maddens from the shelf and show only 1-2 copy of each...not important i know but i just wanted to mention it
  • I'll definitely put you on my stops next time I go to Tampa. Always love seeing new stores in FL, too many have closed lately. Best of luck!
  • I've always wondered, how do newly opened retro gaming shops build up their initial inventory prior to opening?

In any event, good luck to you! Your store looks awesome.
  • The store looks great! Good luck!

Some of its from personal collection, some is consignment, but most is from months of buying everything I can from flea markets for wholesale prices. Some stuff I paid high just to have them on my shelf.

  • Opening day went extremely well and we were pretty busy all day. Sunday was slow though unfortunately and I got a couple of people in thanks to using Facebook. I'm not quite sure how to get everyone in Spring Hill to know I'm here before Christmas and do it afforably. Might try the news station or something.
  • Good luck dude! You could try events and tie charity to them. From what I've seen that can work. Humane societys and such
  • Congratulations on your store! I know the feeling of having a new store and it is AMAZING! Trust me when I tell you, it only gets better from here. Just make sure to get the word out as best as possible and as long as you keep a reputation of being a store that has good inventory and fair trade in / cash values for games, you will do nothing but grow.
  • Good luck! I've considered turning my eBay store into a physical store, but it's not my time, yet. I love the layout. I agree with another user about taking some of the multiple copy sports games off the shelf, but it's better than having empty spots on shelves (and honestly, what store doesn't have a zillion sports games?).
  • That looks really damn cool. Congrats, man! I'm happy for ya

I've decided I might do something similar if my ticket to meteorologyville doesn't work. Then I'll just live out the rest of my life storm chasing on the sidelines.
  • Things are going pretty decent so far. Have done a ton in trade in already and my ps2 section is almost completely side facing already. I have 2 customers already wanting to unload their entire collections so hopefully I can get those. I am getting a banner out by the road and probably going to put an ad in one of those newspaper coupon book things locally. I still need to get with the schools around me (4 or 5 schools within 5 miles of me). I am debating on doing the facebook ads but a lot of people with businesses told me it's worth it.
  • Awesome! We need more stores here in Florida.
